I think I have decided to go ahead and start another book. I'm leaning towards "Keeping Faith" by Jodi Picoult. I hope it's good, and I have heard good things.

I am reading "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthurs Court" by Mark Twain. Actually I am reading it out loud to my children for history. It is very interesting and quite humorous at places. But it's a slow read for us....one chapter takes about 30 minutes to read out loud. I am also currently reading "Israel, My Beloved" by Kay Arthur. It's a love story about Israel. Only in the book Israel is a woman named Sarah. Hey, somebody mentioned Kay Arthur!! Israel, My Beloved is a wonderful analogy of the history of Israel and God's love story with His children! I'm reading John Adams and Jim Elliots Journals put together by his wife, Elizabeth. Deep man......I recently read 23 Minutes in Hell as it seemed a believeable experience. Does anyone else read Brock and Bodie Thoene? They are historical fiction writers. They have several series that will give you an accurate rendering of the recent history of the Jews from before WWII thru the 1948 establishing of the state of Israel. The most current series is about Jesus (The AD Chronicles) thru the eyes of the man born blind. Excellent!

I just read Dear John by Nicholas Sparks. It was ok but I couldn't really warm up to the two main characters. I'm just starting The Choice by Nicholas Sparks. Hopefully I will like it better. Maybe I'm just spoiled after reading the Kite Runner. Hmm I loved Dear John. I havent read the Choice yet though. I hope its a good one. Right now I am reading The Child Called It.

Ooh, I'll have to add those to my long list! They sound fantastic. I read Elizabeth Elliott's Passion and Purity when I first met and courted my husband and it was fantastic.
I just started reading The Fruit of Her Hands: Respect and the Christian Woman by Nancy Wilson. While it's geared toward married women, I think single women would benefit from it too. Great, practical, challenging stuff!

If you like a gripping, thrilling adventurous ride like a rollercoaster, then you need to get your grubby paws on a copy of Shantarm by Gregory David Roberts. Apparently, it's a novel, but I'm still trying to figure out which parts are fiction.

Excellent history in a well told story. And Israel My Beloved is a beautiful story of Gods ever abiding love for His created nation and people!! How blessed you are to be one of them!!

I attended a mom's conference a few weeks ago and bought 5 Conversations You MUST Have With Your Daughter. Pretty good advice for raising a Christian young lady in our society.

Right now... I'm reading "Christmas in My heart", Volume 7 and "Stories behind Christmas songs" (going back and forth with these books) These two books were bought by my parents for me from Doulos, and I absolutely thank them for getting them for me.
"Christmas in my heart" basically contains nice, short Christmas-related stories, which IMO are very heart-warming...though the storylines of each story is simple. But that's what Christmas is supposed to be right? Simple... Hehe.
"Stories behind Christmas songs" simply explains the origin of various famous Christmas songs... XD

I just started 'Frankenstein' today for English. So far it's not too bad. It doesn't really have too much dialogue, which I think I like. If there's too many characters, I can get confused really easily.. =/

I am currently reading "The Daily Coyote" by Shreve Stockton. It is a true story about a lady who raises a coyote who lives with her and her cat. It is really good so far.

Does anyone know if Jason is still reading thru the books he rec'd on tour...I'm curious about further recommendations. I enjoyed Kite Runner and The Alchemist. I prbly wouldn't have read either of them if he hadn't commented on them. He and I are talking about Don't Waste Your Life by John Piper in the avi picture....

I'm reading a Ted Dekker book (I've read several because his imagination is crazy!!), this one is Adam. John Grisham meets Frank Perritti!!! Dekkers mind is a factory for creating bizzare plots and also introduces the mix of the spiritual and natural world as they co-exist!
