Ummmm, these girls are supposed to be the top 12 girls? So far, the first two have been a real let down. Not impressed.
**ETA**
The first three, not good, IMO. Bad song choices tonight. Very bad.

Ok, it did get better, but a bunch of them do sound the same. I like Lilly alot. Not too much stage presence though. I did like the gal that did Chris Isaac too!

I find this group of girls to be very likeable. Unlike last season there is no drama. But none of them stand out as the judges said soooo many times last night. #thdoh-1#
I do like Didi...and yes she sounded just like Ingrid Michaelson but it sounded really good ...IMO. Why is this such a problem all of a sudden. I also like Katelyn Epperly and Siobhan Magnus. All really good and seemed like sweet girls. Crystal to me seemed off ..she forgot to smile and enjoy being on Idol for the first time. IDK it seemed like she didn't really care.
I'm really waiting for tonight....let the Season Begin!

Favorite three from last night were Lilly, Crystal and Siobhan.
Tonight...hmmm...off to an interesting start.

My favorites for the night reguardless of what the judges said because frankly they didn't like much.....
1. Casey James 2. Alex Lambert 3. Todrick Hall

Was Siobhan the one who sang "Wicked Game"? Because, if she was, I really liked her too. (I'm still sort of learning the contestants names.) That was definitely the best performance of girl's night, and it surprises me because Wicked Game is a song you really shouldn't touch unless you really know what you're doing. I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did.
I'm really feeling Hailey Vaughn. I think she's really unique and fun and I hope she sticks around for a long time. She's probably my favorite girl at the moment, even though she clearly wasn't at her best on Tuesday. Her performance was cute one minute and shrill the next. But, I hope she'll be safe tonight because I think she has a lot to offer. I also liked Lilly, Crystal, and Didi...There was something really interesting about Didi.
My favorite guy, (and season 9 contestant overall) is definitely Casey James. I was melting into a puddle of goo last night when he sang Heaven. He just has the whole package: Good looks, likability, and serious, serious talent! My second favorite guy was Lee, and my third was Andrew Garcia.
I'm predict the two guys going home tonight will be Tim Urban and Alex Lambert (although I hope not Alex because he was clearly just nervous and I think he deserves a second chance.) It could be Tyler, though. He wasn't very good either and the whole 1970's rock thing is starting to get on my nerves a little. As for the girls, that's a tough read for me...any thoughts, ladies?

Wow, kind of surprising results show? To be honest though, so many people could have gone, not alot of strong performances and people are not attached to anyone yet so voting is kinda sparse right now I would think. I agree with ya'all on Crystal, she is good, but she kinda reminds me of Amanda-the rocker Chick with the hair a few years back? Kinda seems like she's not that happy to be there?!

I liked the group number at the start of the show. Wish that would be available on iTunes.

So much of the voting is based on looks... not strickly music capablity. Joe sang very well I agree with you Jasonsweetthing.
I also think Tyler was voted off too soon. The judges told him he was unique, loved his style then turn around and say it's all too much and over done. If he hadn't kept to his originality they would have said why did you change who you are. Geez the judges were very unkind this time around.

That's true. The judges are often consistently inconsistent. Sometimes you're damned if you do and you're damned if you don't. But, I have to say I kinda think the right decision was made with Tyler. It was true he had a unique vibe about him, but I was starting to get the feeling that he was just doing a bad Jim Morrison impression. For me, it was getting old real quick.
As for Tim, he HAD to have gotten by on his looks. It sure as heck wasn't for his talent. And, he knew it was wrong too. You could see it in his face.

So far, not an exciting year. My fav so far for the girls, is Lillie Scott. I agree with you Rhapsody on Crystal..while I like her voice, she just doesn't look like she wants to be there. Like that gal on Jason's season, who left in 12th place, I think Amanda? My fav on the guys side are Lee and Casey. So far, it's a snoozefest. I am loving Ellen on the show.

I'm loving Ellen on the show too...a lot more than I thought I'd be, actually. (Even though I am a big fan of hers, I had my doubts about her being on Idol.) My favorite guys are most definitely Casey and Lee. My favorite girls are Hailey and Siobhan...though I like Lilly, Crystal, and Didi too. Casey is definitely my favorite overall from this season and I'm liking season 9, but you're right. Overall, the level of talent has definitely dwindled. It's no season 7, that's for sure!

Spoiler Alert for the Westies: I'm sort of bummed about John Park. The rest...meh. If it wasn't this week, it would probably be next week. I like Lilly, Crystal and Siobhan...ALOT!! Jury is still out on most of the guys.

Grr, I was bummed about John Park too. And, I was really bummed about Hailey. I totally understand why she got the boot. She's rough around the edges still and needs to work on her pitch. But, she was fun and had a very unique vibe about her. She stood out from the rest of the girls in a lot of ways and I'm not sure it was the right decision to let go of her this early.
As for the guys, my favorites are still Casey and Lee. But, Alex made a pretty big impression on me this week too. He showed great improvement.

Wow the judges were sooooo much better this week!
I was thrilled Didi did an amazing job she is my fav! Hope she stays around awhile.
Although..... some of the others sing really well I vote for artists that I would actually buy their music.
On to the guys! Bring it on Casey I wasn't lovin the song choice last week. Sorry! I also love Alex Lambert's voice.
