I now have someone to root for (not vote for..my voting days are over unless Michael gets to the voting rounds). The guy who was in prison is my fav. I loved his voice and his story was so sad. And the blonde guest judge (I forget her name) was the best so far IMO.
As I recall, I never got a favorite contestant until it got down to about the top 10. That is except for Season 7. I saw Jason on the top 24 show and after I heard Daydream and he told Ryan "it's scary up here", I knew who I'd be voting for. Little did I know, I'd end up voting every Tuesday night for two hours, using 2 phones. ;D

LOL, I still miss season 7 so much. No one from last season or this season can touch that group. Fond memories. M.J. was my initial favorite during the auditions and Hollywood week, but it wasn't long before Jason crept up and began to share the spotlight, (he officially earned top billing for me after Hallelujah) Then, after M.J. was surprisingly eliminated, Jason became my one and only favorite. Ah, memories. :-)

I read in a magazine today during my lunch break that he was a civil rights activist who once marched alongside Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Pretty impressive! I think there's more to "The General" than meets the eye!
Friendly reminder: The Dallas Auditions air tonight. Keep your eyes peeled for Castro brother #2 :-)

Yeah, I was hoping to hear his audition too. He said on You Tube that his song was "Will You Still Love Me" by The Sherelles. I bet that was really good! I love that song. Hopefully, they'll show it when/if he makes the top 24. But, if not, maybe he'll record it or make a video for it. :-)

I am really looking forward to Hollywood week. Last night's auditons were like watching reruns. What was that about.? It was all over the place I was getting dizzy.
I was really hoping to see MCas' auditon as well as Samuel Larson's. I did catch a few seconds of Samuel coming out the door with his golden ticket. But that was it and even less of MCas. I don't understand the need to spend so much time on the history of these contestants. It's getting really old this time around ..... every single person has a sad story. Yikes! Can they sing?
Overall Season 9 has been very dissappointing. IMO! #smiley-yawn#

I wouldn't say it's been "disappointing". I think a lot of good singers seem to be emerging this season. (I actually really liked that Casey guy from Fort Worth with the Kurt Cobain hair. I've got a good feeling about him and can't, for the life of me, figure out what Simon's beef with him was...::shrugs:: I am thinking maybe they really didn't show M-Cas this time around because he got a lot of coverage in the auditions last season and if they did that again, I guess it could be construed as favoritism. Kind of like saying "Hey, remember Jason Castro's brother? Well...he's back again!", ya know?
But, I see what you mean about the sob stories. I don't mean to be insensitive at all, but you make a good point. Every time someone comes in with a sob story, a golden ticket isn't far behind. It's kind of become a prerequisite with American Idol, hasn't it?
I'm also looking forward to Hollywood week...and Ellen. Hopefully, they'll put together a decent top 24.

I also liked Casey. and Simon was just being Simon because I too thought he had a really nice sound. I forgot about him since last night just got to me. I've never seen a show so thrown together like that. Now specific town or judge it was so all over. Yes and that is prob. what happened with MCas but the fact that he got absolutely no airtime during Hollywood Week last year still has me reeling. So i have very little hope we'll be seeing him this time around either. I'm very sad about that. We can only hope Ellen loves him.

I really believe that Casey had star quality oozing out his ears, (watch out for those Texan boys, I'm telling ya.) Simon's just jealous...that's what it is. I hope Ellen will love M-Cas too. I already know Kara does...I saw the way she looked at him last season

Okay, for me there was a bit of confusion on last night's show. My Mom says this was "wishful thinking" on my part, and it probably was if I'm being honest with myself, but did M-Cas make it through round one?
He was walking in front of "Big Mike" when Ryan was saying "Big Make and Baby made it through." So, I wasn't sure if he meant "Big Mike and Big Mike Jr." because his wife was in labor or "Big Mike and Little Mike" meaning both he and Michael Castro made it through. ::shrugs::
I'm very happy with Ellen's panel debut. She did a great job. I'm also happy that Casey made it through. But, I'm a little sad that Vanessa (country bridge girl) and Maddy didn't make the cut. I'm not surprised, though. Their auditions were much better than their Hollywood performances.
And, how about that guitar rendition of "Straight Up"? How amazing was that? Overall, I'm very pleased with Hollywood week so far and am looking forward to "group night" tonight!

I do think MCas made it through I think I caught a glimps of him on the previews of tonight's show. I so wish Michael would make it to the voting rounds that would be sooo fun! Not thinkin it's gonna happen but I can still hope really hard! ;D
I do like Casey and Tim Urban. We didn't get to see drummer boy (who fell out of the tree) sing but he made it through. I liked him.
I liked the waitress Dee Dee as well. and Andrew Garcia singin Straight Up was unreal!

Straight Up was fantastic. Somewhere out there, Paula was smiling for that! I just wish she could have seen it in person. Well, it seems our boy didn't make the voting rounds again. I was upset. They didn't even really use him in that group performance, (and on a side note did anyone else notice that when they were putting the camera on and naming everyone in Team Awesome they didn't show Michael?) I'm not so much upset about that though as I am about Michael being eliminated for virtually no reason. He didn't really get to do anything! Bad form!

I'm upset about the whole MCas thing. Not that I didn't see it coming but it annoys me just the same. Why was he out? Simon said they did well so why not put themall through. ehhh #swear2#
Way too much camera time on the same people we already saw.

I wholeheartedly agree. That whole thing with the group performance was bogus. Michael got the shaft. But, I told M-Cas this on You Tube and I'll say it again here: Musicians have been doing their thing long before Idol and they will continue to blaze trails long after Idol. Michael will land on his feet. He's going to be just fine.
