I know it's silly and very corny. But, I have been a Days fan since I was about 12, when I started watching it with my cousin. There have been several cast changes over the years and many, many stories...from the exciting, to the incomplete, to the INSANE. But, one thing that's never changed is the entertainment value. It's so much fun to watch and I am proud to call it my guilty pleasure. I couldn't stop watching now if I wanted to. Are there any other Days fans out there? Whether you're a long time viewer or just experiencing the mid-west town of Salem for the first time, your comments are welcome here. ;D

*raises hand* yep, I've been watching since childhood. Well except for a few years after the Marlena possession. That was just too over the top for me. I started watching again around 2001 or 02 when they started killing off characters only to bring them back again. Typical DOL! Ha!

LOL...I actually started watching around the time of Marlena's possession, (I hate Marlena and John, they're so snotty. I'm enjoying their absence for the moment, but I know they'll be back) But, yeah I remember thinking "What in the heck is this?" That whole storyline was like looking at a bad car accident, you know you shouldn't stare, but you couldn't look away. I actually loved it and the fact that they were doing it to Marlena made it all the more enjoyable. They actually re-ran that story on Soap Net for Halloween in 07. The event was called "The Devil Made Me Do It", haha.
For me the most insane story line was that whole thing with Kirsten and Susan Banks and that whole "I'm having Elvis's baby." nonsense. I have to admit, I almost tuned out when all that started, but I would always end up coming back to the car wreck. I'm glad I did too...Elvis Jr. is quite the hottie :-)

Guilty!!! I've been watching since I was 15 and that was a looooooooooong time ago!! Bo and Hope were still teenagers. ;D Marlena wasn't even on the show yet. ;D I'm so happy you started this thread!! I'll dish with ya, daily!!  |

Thanks Sunshine...I'm always up for a good Days dishing session. Yay! People to dish with about Days! (Well, technically I can dish with my step grandmother because she watches it too) But, you guys are way more fun :-) God bless Soap Net for re-airing Day's every night so I don't have to miss it while I'm at work. :-)

Random 'Days'' note of the day, (no pun intended, haha.): I am officially in love with Sami's son, Johnny. Seriously, how cute is that little boy? He looks like a baby Frodo Baggins. I just want to adopt him! I wish they'd give him more camera time...he'll probably grow up to be a brat and a bad actor, just like Will, haha. I just had to share that. I now return you to your regularly scheduled forum posting.

Another Random "Days" note of the day: (A disclaimer to all you D.O.O.L. viewers out there, if you haven't seen today's episode don't read on.) I have to say, I've been watching this show since I was a child and I think today was the first time I've actually cried. And, it's weird because this isn't even the first time a child was killed on the show, but somehow this was different. Poor baby Grace. I hate to think I'm turning into one of those crazy women (or men, haha) who cries over a stupid soap opera. But, I couldn't believe they killed off that sweet little baby. It was heartbreaking, absolutely heartbreaking. I'm personally waiting for that moment when Mia finds out who Grace really was. Nicole will have Hell to pay. If anyone would like to dish about this, or any of the story lines and characters, please don't be shy. Some crazy things have been happening lately and I'd love some feedback. And, to add insult to injury...THEY CUT JOHNNY'S HAIR!!! How dare they? Don't get me wrong, he's still cute as a button and I still want to adopt him. But, how I miss those dark, hobbit-like curls of his. His hair's all short and slicked up now, he looks like a future preppy. The first thing I do when I adopt him will be to grow his hair out again, haha. What were they thinking? That's like the Daytime equivalent to Jason cutting off his dreads. It just isn't done, I tell you! It was a sad, sad afternoon in the town of Salem.  |

EJ scared the living daylights out of me today. Wow. There is going to be hell to pay for Rafe and Sami, isn't there?
Now, the interesting question. How is the cat coming out of the proverbial bag? Sydney has EJ's DNA so unless Stefano, Brady or Nicole spill the beans, the secret of the baby switch is safe. Oh, yeh, there's always Dr. Baker.
And what is with Kate's makeup? She looks like dawn of the living dead. And that yellow nail polish? I don't get it. She doesn't need all that makeup. Lucas is a bozo. Even though the actor that plays Daniel is smarmy as anything, I'd still rather see Chloe with him.

Yeah, I know! I think EJ is really hot and he can have theses incredibly sweet , romantic moments, but he has this terrible hot-blooded temper. I'm actually surprised he hasn't hit Nicole yet...there was actually this one time a few months back when Nicole threatened to leave with Sydney and EJ started screaming so loud I actually jumped out of my seat! And EJ was insanely scary the other day, wasn't he?

I don't know how the cat will be let out of the bag, but I'm sure it has to sooner or later. Too many people know the secret; Stefano, Brady, Tony, (even though he's dead you still can't count him out. In the world of soaps, people rarely stay dead forever. He could come back in a few months and drop a bombshell.) then there's Dr. Baker and lets not forget about Mia. Mia doesn't know about the baby switch, but she does knows that Sydney isn't Nicole's biological child...she's a theat too.
You're right. Kate is absolutely beautiful, (I hope I look that good when I'm a grandma!) and she really doesn't need all that make up. I've never noticed the yellow nail polish, (I've never even seen yellow nail polish on anyone.) But, I'll keep an eye out for it in future episodes.
You know, I've never much liked Lucas and Chloe together either. Even before Chloe cheated with Daniel, I always thought there was something wrong and unnatural about that match. I could never quite put my finger on it, but it's a very square peg in a very round hole. I don't think she and Daniel are a great couple either, but you're right. It's a better match than she and Lucas.
Man, have you ever noticed how much incest goes on with those characters? Ramdom change of topic, I know, but it's something to think about...very disturbing!

I felt bad for EJ too, even though I completely understand why Sami kept him out of the loop. That creepy Dimera mansion isn't exactly the best place to raise a child. Sydney and Johnny could be in real trouble in that respect. Still, my heart went out to him...especially when he was sitting in the morgue with Grace's body. That was awful.
Yes, I definitely think Mia will blow the top on the baby switch. That girl's a ticking time bomb.

Checking back in on this thread...sometimes I'm really behind on the episodes so I don't read any spoilerish posts. Today I'm all caught up.
How cute is Nicole with Sydney?!!! That baby is just adorable...all the right expressions! I love how Nicole reacts to her when she starts chewing on her necklace.
Sami should win an Emmy for her performances lately. Thought I'd never say this, but I now like Rafe.

Haven't watched it in years but was a huge fan from 1988-1994 during my teen years. And I started re-watching in the early 2000's when they brought back the original Jack and Jennifer for a bit. Jack and Jennifer were my all time favorite couple. Infact i still have my Days VCR tapes filled with their clips and still pop them in from time to time. How lame is that.  I loved Matt Ashford. Me and my girlfriends actually went to some Days events in the late eighties such as a baseball games, and fan meet and greets in LA and I met some of the actors. Not lying! I have pictures to prove. I also loved Mike (Mike horton, played by Mike T Weiss at that time) and April, Steve and Kayla, and Roman and Diana. Anyone remember any of those couples? Have NO idea what's going on now though. Is Roman, Marlena, Bo and Hope still on it? * Man Nancy me and you have more and more stuff in common! How strange! |

Sunshine - it would be about right to have to wait until November to find out.  Isn't there a July sweeps period? ha! 4ever - yes, I remember all of those people! Loved Jack & Jen, Roman & Marlena. Michael Weiss was one of my favorites..so cute! Why did they ever let him go? Steve & Kayla were just written out again, but Bo & Hope are still on the show. Their relationship has deepened over the years as it should, and they are an interesting couple now. |

I have to admit i have lost interest over the last couple of years but did watch it faithfully since 1987 up until recently. I found the Marlena possesion to be the most ridiculous thing ever. I have always enjoyed the Dimeras and their interaction with the Bradys. I really loved Sean and Bell too (Kirsten Storms) and Mimi(Farah Fath) I was sad to see Farah leave the show. i think its neat that they are both on General Hospital right now.(sean and bell) I have always enjoyed watching Sami get herself into one mess after another too.
I used to love John and Marlena too. It just seems to me now that the older characters are just not what they used to be-seems that they are just there but dont have real substance like they used to. But as I say I have only watched sporadically the last couple of yrs so I am prob not one to comment much on whats going on now except to say the Phillip really rocks my world!!! He is gorgeous. and..Nicole annoys me-she always gets herself into so much trouble and is so immoral. I have watched as she took that baby and it was Sammis baby right? and then Mia had a baby and Sami adopted it? I got confused about the babies. Then i tuned in recently and Sami was getting ready for a funeral? her baby died? idk all about that.
and -why after alll the crap Sami and Lucas went through to be together did they break up? b/c of EJ. but is sami with EJ no! Thats what bugs me about soaps-too many boyfriends. Rafe is so uncessary right now imo. I loved the flashback thing with Sami and EJ (cant remember the details) but It was EJ as his grandfather and Sammi as his soulmate. That storyline made me think the two of them (ej and sami) would be the next big supercouple on the show. I was really rooting for sami and Lucas then thought maybe sami and ej would work out but NOOOOO of course not-its a soap-never a happy ending. I think Sami is just cursed.
