Can't believe the Quilting Dreadheads haven't added their contribution to Jason's Gift List.
Story of Quilt of Love
Started as a game on the AI board about what you would take on vacation with Jason. Whereby the letter "Q" brought in the word Quilt from a fan named Boatlady.
Boatlady and Rosequeen discussed making a quilt for jason where the dreadheads would send the boatlady sewing the quilt the squares. 366 squares were sent to Texas for Boatlady to sew. This was one of the largest group efforts to create a gift for Jason and it was coordinated well.
It was a tremendous technical effort to get all the different size swatches to fit evenly for the quilt but after 6 weeks the topper was complete. Many were hand sewn, some are made with fabric paints, some embroirdered by hand or by machine.
The quilt was displayed at the Dreadhead picnic where everyone could see it before it was given to Jason after the Texas AI concert in Dallas last year.
