OK. This is my second post. Pictures to come later. Sorry! But I've been downloading them to Photobucket for forever and i'm tiiirreedd!! Here is my LONG recaps!! Enjoy! My American Idol Account: My experience all began Sunday evening as many Castro fans united at a Dreadhead BBQ in Rockwall in honor of our favorite idol. About 75 of Jason’s fans were present and ate hot dogs, potato salad, cake, and even dreadhead-shaped cookies! It was a great way to kick off our taste of the Idol tour and connect with other enthusiastic folks! Monday morning at 11:15 my mom and I arrived at the American Airlines Center where we found about 5 other bus stalkers. One by one they started trickling in and by 1:00 there were probably about 50 of us. The security guard said they would arrive soon and come out around 2:00. The buses drove by and into the underground parking lot at 1:30, and sure enough David Cook struts out at 2:00. Looking good in his red baseball cap, blue striped shirt and pointy elf boots, he was very accommodating and took his time with us all! My friend Joni was literally shaking when she took our picture…I hope it came out. I haven’t seen it! KK from Wisconsin was there and he kept yelling “Cheese, cheese, cheese” into her camera! Archie made an appearance next and poor guy, he was coughing up a storm! He was sweet as can be, cuter than pictures let on, and very grateful to the fans. I got a picture with him too. Kristy Lee was next and looked very comfy in her Victoria Secret tank, jeans, and tennis shoes. She is beautiful! And…drum roll please…..Jason walked through the door next! And yes, for those dreadheads in the know, he was donning the reappearing shirt and his manpris with his dreads pulled half-back. Seriously, he received soooo many gifts! I think he has gotten the most love out of anyone. When he got to me I was holding an “Aggie Dreadhead” sign and I said, “I’m an Aggie also.” He said, “Oh yeah. Currently?” I said that I had already graduated. And he said, “OK because today was the first day of school.” We took a thumbs-up picture, which is the Texas A&M sign. I gave him my gift…a t-shirt and book. Then he was on down the line. We were about to leave since they had press in 3 minutes, and I realized the picture we took did not turn out! Ahh! So luckily I caught him before he left and said, “Our Aggie picture didn’t turn out. And he said, “Well let’s take another!” We did. And all was good. Went home, took a shower, and we rode the DART back to the AAC for the show We got there 2 minutes before it started. Here’s my run-down: Chikeze: Great entertainer and so happy-go-lucky! He gave a shout out to Jason Yeager who was in the audience. I’m a new Chikeze fan! Ramiele: Very cheesy dance moves and her songs were boring. I do think she has a voice though and she is just so dang cute! Michael: That boy can rock it! His voice is the best in person! Love the “bluesy-ness” of it! Loved him! Kristy: Can I just say that I want her body! She is a better singer than I remember and she worked the stage! Carly: I love me some Carly. She was my favorite girl. Loved the Bring Me to Life and her entrance with the fan blowing. The Heart song suited her well. Didn’t know the last song. She has some pipes and she can rock also! Brooke: Brooke is just so comfortable behind the piano. Her voice sounded extra raspy, but she nailed each performance. 1,2,3,4 was super-fun and Yellow was the coolest cover of a song I’ve heard in a long time! Loved Brooke! First group performance: Don’t really remember it. Too short. Jason: Overall, LOVED it! Well, he is another one who sounds phenomenal live. The oohs and aahs on Over the Rainbow gave me goose bumps. He mixed it up a bit compared to the studio version. Crazy was a very cool version and Daydream was so much fun. After Crazy he talked about how he was glad to finally be home and it never felt like that day would ever get there. Then he pulled out a Texas flag, threw it over his head, and wrapped himself in ii. Yay for Texas! Syesha: I’m surprised her dress never flew up. Didn’t think her performance was very strong considering she sang some very well known pop songs. For some reason she doesn’t seem very friendly, but maybe it’s just me. But I have to say she has a good voice. Archie: His set was my favorite! His voice cracked once on Angels, and I could tell that cold was hitting hard. But he managed. After Apologize he thanked all the fans who “stood by him” and he was so out of breath! He sang Stand By Me and got the loudest standing ovation of any Idol of the night. The last Josh Groban song was beautiful and solidified my opinion that he should have won. Cook: I loved his song choices. He made a joke about magic rainbows! He also gave a shout out to old bandmates and said, “Guys, look what could have happened?” He later apologized and said that was a jerk-move. I was glad about that because I was gonna say…. He worked the crowd and won over a new fan in me. Don’t Stop the Music and the Mavid: Fun song! Wish they each had longer solos. The Mavid was hilarious although I barely saw it because I was trying to film. But it looked like some sort of country moonwalk thing. After the show my mom took a cab home and I stayed to meet the rest of the Idols. Around 11:00, Kristy, Syesha, Michael. Chikeze, Carly, Archie, and Brooke came out along with Jason Yeager. I conversed with him for a few minutes. Nice guy. Jason Castro had 150 family members so didn’t come out. Brooke said David Cook doesn’t come out after shows. And who knows where Ramiele was? Glad I stayed! Got some good pictures and I felt like my Idol experience was complete. This was the best season ever and I don’t think another one will top it! Good night!

Autographs before: Jason wore "the shirt"...the one from NY..the repeater shirt. lol He is so sweet and takes his time with each person. Comparing May's homecoming and todays, Jason seems more at ease with this process. I finally got my squiggy and autograph on the back of my blue T. It was too hot to wear it, so I had it on a clipboard for him to sign. Looks so cute. Worth all the sweat! Got some great closeup shots of Jason. Cook was really nice, talkative, funny and friendly. My daughter & I like him more after autographs today. Archie was cute. My daughter wanted her picture with him, and he said he didn't know that he might be getting sick. He didn't want to give it to anyone. We said it's OK, so she got her picture! (Archie did not sound sick during the concert, but he may have been a bit winded.) KLC is shorter than we thought. She was friendly and answered questions.
Concert: All of them have improved since they were on AI. Jason was great!! He came out to a sea of blue neon lights... most of the crowd was standing, clapping and screaming. Jason held up a Texas flag behind him and then draped it over his shoulders! He said that the first time he sang "Crazy" was at the W hotel, which is close to the AAC. His set IS way too short.
At the autograph signing, a lady gave Cook a black TX hat. He wore it during the last number, and it was passed around... Brooke to Jason to Carly..it was cute.
Jason was not due to come out after the concert to sign, so we left when we saw the multitudes waiting. Jason's Hometown Dreads handed out 600 cds with business cards listing his new website and myspace. They had 4 songs on each.

We didn't do the whole "before bus thing", I was running late AS USUAL... We did get there in plenty of time to pick up our tickets at Will Call and get inside. As the usher was showing us to our seats, we kept going lower and lower and lower... until we ended up at these AMAZING SEATS !!! 11th row, floor, center... it was GREAT. #th008# We started to see alot of people we knew from church and school, so it was a blast to be surrounded by people we knew and ALL JASON FANS! Now on to the show: The Pop Tart guy annoyed me. He needed to hush... Chikeze - He actually did very good! Good personality and a good voice. Made mention of Jason, got some yells. Raimelle - Bless her heart. She was so boring. She sounded good, but the crowd was D E A D while she was up there. And her outfit?? Oh lord.... someone needs to help her dress sooo bad! And if you are going to bedazzle, bedazzle ALL the way, not half. MJ - He totally rocked! And the crowd loved him! AI made a stupid decision letting him go in 8th. His album will do well Carly - Well, atleast she dresses better than she did on the show. She looked GREAT! Sounded fine too. Brooke - She has the sweetest spirit. She truly is "Mary Poppins" in the flesh! sounded wonderful. She played piano and guitar... my daughter said "is she going to play the triangle next??" INTERMISSION - Again the Pop Tart guy annoyed me. My kids went to buy a tshirt and a drink with $100 and came back with .50... Yep, you heard me... FIFTY WHOLE CENTS.... 2 tshirts, program and a water. THEN it was time for Jason... As soon as the lights went down, 22,000 people lost their minds... it was so freakin awesome! #thyahoo# Jason was sooooo nervous! He came out and sang SOTR, I got tears in my eyes #cryingsmilie# and chillbumps, I was so proud of him! Of course my two wenchy daughters laughed at me and said "YOU ARE SUCH A CRYBABY, WE ARE TELLING JASON". At the end of the song, he came to the front of the stage and there was something on the floor. He picked it up and it was a Texas flag.... He wrapped it around him and smiled... again, 22,000 people lost their minds! #thyahoo# He was fabulous... he was amazing... he was Jason at his best! One of my favorite parts of his set was hearing 22,000 people sing with him. It was super cool. Hey, did I mention there were 22,000 screaming fans? #thyahoo# Next was Cryesha.... bless her heart, she is such a diva. She had those "puppies" out in full view. She sang well... but... B O R I N G... She even said "yall are so quiet". I felt kinda bad for her because it was right after Jason and I'm sure it is hard to follow greatness every night original. So I let out one "woohoo" for her. #happy036# Then... DA.... i didnt like him during the season... but he was good! He's such a goofball, you gotta love him. The crowd LOVED him too... shrieking kids! He's just as akward in person as he was on TV. BUT, he has a good voice and can sing! Made mention of Jason, got some yells! Then it was Cook... he tried too hard IMO... too much guyliner... too "stagy" if that makes sense. BUT, the boy belted. Crowd was into it but people grew tired of him. Group Song - Cook came out wearing a cowboy hat, which everyone loved...they passed it around until it got to Jason. That place went NUTS! MJ was hysterical in his dancing. All in all the concert was enjoyable, very entertaining. Afterwards, for those lucky ones who had afterparty passes, we sat in this section with the Arena staff for about 20 mins. They came out and said everyone here for any idol EXCEPT Jason Castro follow us... I thought huh?... anyway, there were about 100 of us, they came back and "herded" us into one of the clubs there and we waited for Jason. He came in and people swarmed on him like flys at a picnic. I felt soooo bad for him. I was thinking "SECURITY SECURITY"... just then you hear "EVERYONE GET BACK... EVERYONE GET BACK", its Betsy Castro! Mama is in the house and she's in control! Jason is blessed in many ways, but that boy is LUCKY to have that Mama in his corner. She got everything under control in that organized chaos. Some very sweet things I witnessed... he hugged his grandparents and took pictures with them and would not rush them. It was super sweet. Then he went table to table, autographing, pictures and spending a few minutes with everyone. When he got to our table, he gave Kelli a big ole bear hug #bearhug# and she said "Kim cried". I could have smacked her. He just laughed. So, he took pictures with Kelli and Rachael, told Rachael how grown up she looked and then took pictures with me and talked for a few and we let him move on. All in all, it was a great night. Jason was amazing... but our boy is TIRED. So, please keep him in your prayers that he gets some much needed rest! I hope everyone gets a chance someday to meet Jason... and I hope everyone realizes we are all witnessing greatness here... #thstars#

Okay, I posted over at DDB and just now got my pictures uploaded to photobucket They're also now on DDB. But my recap of the Dallas concert goes like this: Got down to the AAC around noon. Got my spot along the fence with my fellow dreadheads. I did video Jason coming out and all the screaming that came with that. (still have to put in on youtube!). We were the biggest fan section there (way to represent) He was so great and spent alot of time with his fans. When he got to me, I explained that my daughter was coming to the concert, but she didn't want to miss her 1st day of HS and then I asked him if he would mind leaving her a message on her cell phone. (wasn't sure if he would do it, but...HE DID!!! ;D) Then he proceded to sign my poster, my daughters shirt and take a picture with me. BTW thanks to everyone who took/posted pix of Jason on my phone) I don't know who got a bigger thrill from this Me or my daughter! And then I got to tell Dawn Reddig the whole story for neighborsgo.com. I cannot begin to tell you how thrilled my daughter, Shannon, was and still is about all of this. And a big hats off to my hubby who drove her down after school, even though he thought she and I were 'nuts' Now onto the concert: Chikezie: thought he was great, lots of energy, got the crowd going. Ramiele: Better than I thought; was waiting to hear her power voice MJ: GREAT! have to admit that Kristy: Not a big country fan, but thought she did a decent job. Carly: Girls got chops. And she looked great too. Sorry I didn't get to meet her. Brooke: Really enjoyed her set. Althought 1,2,3,4 wasn't my fav She is such a sweetheart. Hope she has alot of success Intermission-we didn't budge JASON: OMG. He was great. (didn't even know that he was sick) I did video some of his set (a little patchy). OTR was pure heaven, Crazy was my fav and I did enjoy his banter and the TX flag bit. Screams were deafening and I could definitely hear everyone singing along with Daydream. What a fun song, but his set is too short. Syesha: Shannon took a bathroom break (she's not a fan of hers) but did make mention of her 'skanky' outfit and that doesn't she know its a pg concert? Anyway kudos to her because she does have massive vocals, but originality? Archie: I liked him better in concert than on TV and after meeting him, thought he was a sweetheart too. Cook: He is much better looking without all that 'guyliner' and was so nice that afternoon. I enjoyed most of his songs but thought that he dragged it out a bit too much. PDSTM: Liked the cowboy hat bit, but wished Jason had done his 'dork' dancing. We didn't stay around after since Jason wasn't coming out and Shannon was tired and had school in the morning. All in all we had a GREAT time! Can't wait for his cd and for his own tour. We'll be there too.
