I don't know if there are a lot of Dreadheads there, but there are a whole gang of Castrocopians who have already reported in that Jason was out and about meeting fans before the show. I'm sure they'll have lots of stories when they return.
There is also a Jason shoutout to McLovin on the front page of Castrocopia.

Hey all!
The DC show was great. I couldn't make it to the venue before the show, so I decided to stay after to try to see Jason, even though the Verizon center had signs posted saying there would be no autograph session after the show. Still, a bunch of people crowded around in hopes they would come out for a bit. I saw some fellow dreadheads there, which was cool. I'm sure they will be posting soon. In the end, we just saw the busses pull out and some of the Idols waved. I did see Michael Johns and Carly in there, but I didn't get a glimpse of Jason. I did hear that Jason had been out before the show for a while, but like I said I couldn't get there in time for that. In any case, the show was great and Jason seemed to have a lot of support there. =D Can't wait until he goes on tour by himself!!

;D Cloud nine, here! ;D
No meeting or anything. Just show. He was luminous. Ok, that's probably a pretty foofy description, but it's what came to mind. He did, indeed, have lots of support.
Plus - I LOVED the way he paused after he sang "day dreamin' boy" & got a special little round of applause & hoots! Gotta be the dreadhead contingent.
And I agree, twisted_grape, I cannot wait to go to a Jason Castro show!!!

Me and brichdc got to the venue at 11:00 and immediately found where the Idols would come out when they got there. We were told they would be there around 4:00, then a few minutes later, around 3:00 and again a few more minutes later between 1:00 and 2:30. Within 30 minutes of being there Rockinmama found us and we all hung out. Security started putting up the barriers and we jumped into place right in front of the doors so we could be the first to see them! Sometime between 2:00 and 2:15 (not sure exactly) the Idols buses pull up! We waited another half hour and Syesha, Ramiele & David Archuleta came out! Next came David Cook! He started meeting fans at the opposite end of the line than the others did. Next is all a blur because I think everyone else came out pretty much all at the same time, but all I really noticed was Jason!! David Archuleta was near us when he came out of the doors right in front of us. He looked around and started towards a group of people just down from where we stood. He worked his way down the line and got caught up with a group of Castrocopians. He started walking back up towards where we were and they (American Idol staff) grabbed him (not literally) and had him go in to do press!! He never made it back out...we waited until 4:00 hoping he would! I was sooo disappointed because he was so close...yet so far (thanks to brichdc for that saying). We never got to talk to him or get pictures with him. Some fans never even got to see him. I hate when they have to do press! I had made him a little poster that I never got to give to him. I got everyone's autograph except Jason (and Chikezie because he never came out)...and I was there only because of him! However, I've got to say that David Cook is the coolest guy! He took his time going through all of the fans and spent a good deal of time with each group. He took pictures and carried on conversations with us all. I liked him before...but now I love him! As Michael Johns was signing autographs and taking pictures with us, we asked him if Jason was going to come back out and he said he didn't think so...and that he thought we should pick a new favorite! haha But then he said "No, I love me some Castro. As a matter of fact we have a date tomorrow night". I asked him if I could come and he said "Sure! It's in Lexington...come on down". Yea....I wish!! haha Here is a picture that I was able to get of Jason as he passed me going in. I don't know why it is so small because it is large on my computer.
The concert itself was awesome! Everyone impressed me and I LOVED Jason's set! I sure wish it was longer though. 9 1/2 minutes just isn't long enough!!!!

When I spoke to David Archuletta yesterday at the Philly show, he said that when they come out, it's their "free" time. So, obviously when they can't come out, it means they have no free time before the show. I asked David if he minded spending his "free" time signing autographs, and he said no, not at all!
The poor kid was hot, but he kept smiling and laughing that silly laugh he has. He was adorable.

I am a new poster here, but always love to hear Jason recaps so I thought I'd add mine.
I was one of the unlucky who waited for hours for Jason in Baltimore and then missed him by a few minutes. I was beside myself! Then, yesterday, I got tickets for the DC show at the last minute and went to Verizon Center to pick them up (I work very close by). I was not planning to stalk any buses (no more heartbreak for me), but when I got there, I saw the long line and said "what the heck?" I went down to the very end and sure enough, shortly thereafter, Idols were sighted!
I met Archie (so sweet!), Rami (so cute!), Sy (so so--heh), Carly (so lovely), KLC (so pretty), and Brooke (so sunny!). And finally, Jasonnn!!! (so squeeee!!!). He was coming toward my side of the line so slowly and taking his sweet time with everyone. I was close to where the Castrocopian group was and he was taking FOREVER with them. He was loaded down with gifts. LOL. When he got to the gal next to me, his handler came out and said he had to go in for press. Aaagh! Not again!! But he was so sweet, that he made it a point to get to all of the rest of us and even got in my video a little and took a picture with a sweet little girl and her mom. He is the best, and all is right with the world.
I am in the process of uploading the vids to You Tube (my first time--and it's taking forever. Is that normal??); I'll post it as soon as it's up.

My daughters and I went out yesterday afternoon to verizon to try to meet the idols! Jason was really the only one I cared about meeting, and like the others, I was disappointed since he had to go back inside! I met some fellow DDB posters! That was cool! I met rockinmama, who I have a great picture of with David Cook! I also met Kittileen! At least I think that was you, according to your post! Turns out we grew up very near each other and even knew at least one of the same people from our pasts! We had brought gifts for Jason and since he never made it to us, my daughter gave them to Michael Johns. I really really hope that Jason got those gifts, as the girls worked really hard on them! David Cook was totally cool! He noticed the braids we had put in Jades hair and said she must be a Jason fan! I always liked him before, but now I totally love the guy!
Anyhow, the concert was a blast! My youngest kept her fingers in her ears for at least half of the concert! I should have thought of earplugs before the concert! Everyone was great! Jason was awesome but his set was way too short!! I took lots of pictures! I will post the concert pictures later, as I am still trying to get them into photobucket on my dialup internet service! I do have some pictures from the afternoon though!

Thank for for sharing your experiences! I love hearing all the different stories and seeing the pics.
There are also quite a few fun stories on Castrocopia about the DC experience, as they were highly represented and Jason spent a lot of time with them.

Oh I am not sure I want to go over there and read all about the people who met him! I am still so sad that he didn't make it to our part of the line! I am jealous! I might go another day!
Here are some of David Cook at the concert! I tried getting the one picture I had of little David at the concert into photobucket all night! For some reason I keep getting error messages!

Thanks for all of the great stories and pictures. Time restraints keep Jason and the other Idols from meeting all of the fans on some days, especially days when they have press to do. I believe that they all try to get to everyone, but just run out of time.
By now I think that the Idols all know the tour colors their fans have designated for themselves. If they see a group of people wearing that color, they know those are their fans and will try extra hard to meet them before they run out of time, but will try to meet everyone during the time allowed.

I met up with Kittileen and BrichDC and Kitteleen pretty much told the whole story. We also met up with StarSista and her kids. The best part of the day was spending time with people who like to talk about Jason as much as I do since my family and friends for the most part could care less. It was sad to be so close yet so far. I'm not sure if when he tours on his own if we will have the same kind of access as we do with the idol tour. I've been to many concerts in my day and don't remember too many opportunities to get up close and personal. StarSista and I seemed to like the same kind of music. It's amazing Jason captured my heart so with his music since he's so different from my usual rock preference.
David Cook was really great working the fan line. He got down close to the kids and made goofy faces for the pictures with them. He was my second favorite of the show so I did enjoy meeting him and he is so not like the arrogant persona AI sometimes tried to portray him as.

It was great meeting you in person, Rockinmama, and the others (if only briefly). . .Cook announced at the show he had been lobbying on the Senate side for cancer research funding (hence the suit) (and Kristy said both she and Carly had gone to the White House) but I don't think the others did. My seats were awesome, right by the stage and two rows off the floor, so just about stage height or a little above, but I am not a camera person, was just basking in the beauty of it all . . .it was a memorable day . . .
