Well, I've registered and looked around a bit but haven't posted anywhere yet - exciting stuff about the fan club - oh yes I'll definitely join up! This site is really beautiful, as everyone has already said (being redundant here! LOL) - will have to lurk a bit more and figure out what is what and what is where. Yay fan club!!!!! So much to look forward to now that Jasonnn will be beginning his career on his own!

So is the t-shirt that you can add to the fan club membership the black one with the logo on it? Also, do we have more info on what all the privileges of a fan club member will be?

I understand that certain things cost money..... I've just always felt like you shouldn't have to pay to be a fan and get it on the exclusivity of it all.

VanCanDance -- I'm responding as just another poster on the board, not in an official capacity. I don't have any information on what process went into creating the fan club membership kit.
I understand your point but I disagree with it. Fan club membership fees cover a lot of expenses, like administrating the fan club (printing supplies, mailing costs, etc.) the costs of web domains, advertising your site, etc. etc. That stuff can be a huge expense and can be a hardship on artists who aren't multi-platinum sellers. If a fan is paying a membership fee that helps cover those costs, I think they deserve some exclusive perks that aren't available to fans who don't join.

We can now purchase the Official Jason Castro Fan Club Membership! Great! I plan on doing just that. But first I'd like to see a description on what I'll get with the membership. Right now there is not any description. In the Fan Club Details thread JCM Administrator posted the following (see below) so I know there will be perks as an official member, but could someone list them in the store with the product. Thanks in advance. ". . . as a JCM Fan Club Member, you'll have access to exclusive benefits such as Meet and Greet passes when Jason tours, pre-sale for CDs and concerts, lots of other fun Jason schtuff, and...you never know when you may get a surprise from Jason himself!! More details to come!! "

Just wondering... does joining mean "for life" or "for a limited time, then you have to renew?"

Well this is how I think of fanclub dues. I have my own website and server...it is NOT cheap. If you see the cost of those shirts you KNOW they are keeping costs down and frankly I'm sure running a fan club is a big hassle on it's own. Now speaking as a business owner I can also tell you that accepting credit cards is NOT cheap the vendor...in this case jason's fan club has to PAY a percentage of every charge to the company that processes the charges for them. They must also pay for all logo setups, for printing and such.....So what do you get for that small amount of money? You get all their work, effort and behind the scenes info that fans tend to crave PLUS you take the hardship off of the performing artist that is out there DOING what we beg them to do ...... Not a bad thing really is it?

Karen and Cinna - Will get some answers for you and post them asap.
Randy - those are good points. I hadn't even thought about c/card fees. And a lot of artists sell their merch shirts for 30.00 and up, even more if you purchase it at a venue.
