** The Most Insane Day of My Life**
ok most of the day has already been said but ill repeat it
My day started at ehh round 9 am ish I go back and forth weather or not to go meet the buses after all I've NEVER done anything like this in my life, I'd be going by myself AND it was POURING outside. After much debate over my much needed morning coffee I decide that this is a once in a life time opprotunity and decide to head out . I get to the arena and see ndsoccer's Dreadhead Gathering sign THANK GOD I know exactly where to go ! It was great meeting everyone and of course everyone always asking "whats your screename" We all continue to stand around for what seemed like forever THANK GOD for Gailer and Texasgal these girls kept me amused amongst a bunch of archie and cook fans. now its 1:30 and the idols have arrived
Brooke- Super sweet, loves the dreadheads and beautiful handwriting by the way
Carly- Also very sweet and personable and looks like she has lost a lot of weight since the show but did not want to take pictures
next up my lovely Jason - I was pretty much acting like a 12 y/o fan girl and was sooo nervous talking to him. but he did spend some time with us took pictures and was able to tell him about the dreadhead gift bag "over yonder" (see youtube video)
Syesha- apparently doesnt care about fans as she was over the top rude and karma sucks cause it came right back to her during her 1st performance
Kristy- also rude as she got to the end of the line did not say 2 words to us ( I think)
Ramiele - is super duper cute soo short and also very accomadating to the fans
Michael Johns- is just as he seems "the funny guy" although he did sing Happy Birthday to this little girl which was just precious
I didnt stick around to much longer it was hot and I had to pee
All in all I reccommed everybody on future tour stops to do this its AMAZING!!

####################Title: Jason's hilarious remark in Chicago
Post by: DingueApe on July 21, 2008, 08:53:03 PM
Not only did Jason say really profound things during the concert (and I'm glad that was posted), but he could be giving Michael Johns a run for his money. I didn't get to talk to Jason much earlier in the day, unfortunately, due to a press function that cut his mingling with fans abruptly short when he got a little over halfway down the line. (If I had been psychic, I would've moved places, instead of shamelessly eavesdropping on Michael Johns to pass the time while waiting for Jason to approach.) But I did witness a comment after the show that was so funny, I had to stop and think, "Did Jason just say what I thought he said?"
Since the crowd of fans wanting autographs had multipled by 10 after the show, we figured we weren't gonna get a chance to have a conversation with Jason then either. So we had resolved to just sit in the car and people watch for entertainment for awhile. (Nothing is funnier than grown men and women screaming and running up and down along a fence because they got an autograph from Archie.) Anyway, it occurred to my aunt that she had no picture with Jason and no autograph, plus no autograph from MJ.
"Go have them autograph your ticket stub or something," I suggested.
"I don't know where it is..." she replied.
So at this point we'd gotten out of the car and were walking around, and she watched someone hand Michael Johns a dollar bill to sign.
"Hey, I have one of those in my pocket!" she announced to me. "Here, get him to sign it." (I'm taller with longer arms.) Well, he was wayyyy out of my reach, so it didn't work. I handed back the dollar. No luck.
"I'm gonna go look for Jason," I decided, tired of the crowd engulfing MJ. So she followed me, and at first I couldn't see where he was behind a wall of fans, but finally I saw the top of his head as he was grabbing posters and random merchandise with what seemed like 20 hands every second, just signing, signing, signing...
So my aunt managed to thrust herself forward in between a double-decker human sandwich and shoved the crumpled dollar bill in between the chain-link of the fence. I couldn't see what happened in front of her at this point, but she says the dollar bill was yanked from her hand so fast it reminded her of a goldfish snatching food in the water.
"Hey, I'll TAKE it!" Jason announced cheerfully. Then he muttered something I couldn't hear since-- no joke--he had ripped the dollar almost completely in half. "I'm just kiiiiiddin'," he reassured her in a low voice, as she said the only thing that came to mind.
"Haha...hi."
She turned around with her newly formed dollar and said to me, "Ok, guess I can never spend this one now."
"Whoa, what happened? How'd you rip it in half? Did it get caught in the fence?"
She laughed. "Well, he ripped it out of my hand! But in fairness, the bill was not in great shape to begin with. I mean, this was not the best dollar bill. It was old."
At this point I was laughing hysterically. I just had to share that. That dollar is hereby removed from circulation! Haha.

Regarding the review in the Chicago Tribune Today:I don't appreciate the "stoner vibe" comment. JASON isn't a stoner. And when you meet him, as we did, you know that he isn't stoned!
Jason was amazing, as always. The guy just glows, on and off the stage. He is comfortable onstage, with his music, his guitar and his fans. He brought me to tears with his SOTR, once again.
KLC performance of "God Bless the USA" was so nauseating, I covered my face.
Ramiele is an Asian re-incarnation of Pat Benatar. . . only not as good. She tries hard to be small and belt it out and look cool, but it is very karaoke to me.
Archie was very cute, "a basket full of rainbow puppies" but as forgetable as a serenade from Strawberry Shortcake would be. Or Barney.
David Cook, well, he was OK, but not as good as Michael Johns! Michael Johns and Chickezee tried to bring down the house. Proof that B students work harder. . . MJ and Chickezee take nothing for granted and work their butts off to entertain and blow you away. Carly Smithson as well, she looked and sang beautifully, besting the old Heart songs for a new generation. Must mention Brooke White, LOVED her! She was terrific, she has a specific genre of music and when she is allowed to stay within her genre, she is terrific. Very kind to the fans as well
Now Syesha. . . a diva. Like divas? then Sye is your girl! Somebody should tell Syesha that she really hasn't made it yet, attaining 3rd place in an over-rated talent contest, (that was rigged) translates into delivering the mail for the rest of your life. Especially when you PO your fans, the way she did at Rosemont. She complained in front of the crowds about signing things, her lack of time with a beautician, picture taking, none of the other contestants behaved anything like her! I told her that my husband really liked her, and her reply "Well, that's scary actually. Really scary!" Scary huh? Having fans is scary? No prob, they r hiring at airport security Sye, no fans required!
We got lucky at Rosemont and got after show meet & greet. Can't tell you how great it was, meeting Jason face to face, standing next to him and taking a picture. He is so kind to everyone of his fans. One of the more aggressive fans was trying to take one of his bracelets, and he calmly said "No, a fan gave that to me. You can not take that." To which she replied, "Don't you ever give anything away?" And he said, calm and sincere as ever, "Yes, I donate old eyeglasses so others without glasses can see!" Deflected that situation so calmly and respectfully. I tried to think of something "profound" to say to him, but I really found myself just wanting to listen to him, and watch him. I took my picture, and I said "Muchas gracias, Jason!" He beemed, and said Muchas gracias! I know he is part-Columbian, and I felt that maybe he would appreciate that. I think he did!
It was a blast meeting Tosh and Jus and so much fun with GS and Blue! I don't know what kinda' shrimp went down to get us those backstage passes but it was worth it!
There are no words for this guy any longer! without a doubt absolutly THE GREATEST! We should call him THE GOAT (Greatest Of All Time)

Was he being serious? Some girls earlier that day was talking to Jason about an organization they were a part of that collected old eyeglasses and sent them to third world countries... They wanted him to check it out and spread the word. They had asked me earlier which idols would be most likely to do anything with the info, and I said Jason and Brooke. So yeah, he seemed interested in it (though I admit I couldn't hear most of their conversation), but it ended with the girls thanking him, and him shrugging his shoulders with a smile saying "Anything I can do to help..."
Hmm. So he actually donates eyeglasses?

"I'm laughing so hard! OMG! The kid does not own a pair of eyeglasses! He's got 20/20 vision...maybe that's where all his gmas glasses are going, and here she thought she kept loosing them....but he really is very generous...that was quick thinking on his part, funny kid!"

It is so great to read everyones stories. We were all there, but have definitely all had different experiences. I love the story about the dollar bill. I was laughing all by myself in the house. I'm sure if my kids walked in they would think I was nuts. That's ok though. I was so jealous reading about the backstage passes though. How very cool for you! That is so exciting. I did see the sign go up during the poptarts. I can't believe they almost confiscated it. I thought it was great.
Nana it was my daughter that you so grasciously let stand in front of you. She is so tiny (she's 4 foot nothing and thin as a whip) and it made her day to actually be able to see everything. She was almost in tears before you let her through. The Archies next to us wouldn't let her sneak in. So I just want to say Thank You!! All the dreadheads are so nice and generous.
I am so glad we took the time to go early for the meet and greet. The was the coolest thing.
Now that Jason has said he donates eyeglasses, I wonder if he will get a plethora of them from different fans to donate. I could see it happening.

Wow, kkQQky, thank you so much for posting the link to your recap! I just got done reading it, and I must agree with several other posters, it was the best one I've read! And your pics and video are AMAZING! I was smiling the whole time and I'm so glad that you had such a great experience! Oh, and can I just say, thank you for referring to me as a "cute blonde college age girl!" I am 27 and have been out of college for 4 years now but definitely don't mind being called college aged!
I too am going through major withdrawal, and am already making plans to go to the Ft. Wayne concert! You are right, once you see/meet Jason once in person, it is impossible to not go back for more!
I am so glad that I got to meet you this past Saturday, and I hope that we get to see each other again! Thanks again for your wonderful recap!

Now that Jason has said he donates eyeglarsees, I wonder if he will get a plethora of them from different fans to donate. I could see it happening.
[/i]
Wow, why does the world eyeglas*ses not work on this forum? Lol. It keeps saying eyeglarsees instead of eyeglas*ses. Haha, guess it doesn't like a-s-s.
Anyways, I need to see if I still have their flyer somewhere from Saturday, but I know they were there to spread the word about eyeglass donation and wanted my help, and I said I don't wear glasses but I can let my parents know not to throw theirs out, and they said which idols would be worth talking to? And I said Jason (which got an immediate "that's what we thought!") and Brooke. I think they talked to as many people as they could, because they talked to Kristy too. They also wanted them to say something on video about the organization, and I said Jason would probably do it, but they are probably not technically supposed to step out as an individual to endorse charities until the tour's over. So then I think they ditched the video idea. But I overheard them talking about the organization and handing him brochures and him agreeing to do something, which might have been just to check into them, and that's when I turned and paid attention, because one girl said, "Thank you so much!" And he shrugged in his Jason-y way and said, "Anything I can do to help."
That is hilarious, though, if he made the comment that he donates old eyeglasses to those who need them, simply because that was the first thing that came to his mind. Whether or not he actually does this is still unknown to me, since I clearly was not paying close enough attention on Saturday!
Moving on... here's a nice pic of Jason I took on Saturday. Hope this works:

Hey guys! So sorry I have not posted this yet, but I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who brought food to donate to the food drive at the concert on Saturday! as far as the whole eyeglasses thing goes, I thought people were making typos until I saw it on a few other words and decided it was a substitute like they do for rainbow. The funny thing is here is a definition of arse.
American Heritage Dictionary -
arse (ärs) Pronunciation Key
n. Chiefly British Slang
Variant of a ss.
I find that quite funny.
Thanks Kqqky for your recap. This is so fun to hear everyones different stories. keep them coming people.

Hey guys! So sorry I have not posted this yet, but I want to give a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who brought food to donate to the food drive at the concert on Saturday! Even though the rain and the craziness of the day made it hard to collect the food (I think there may have been some people who weren't even able to give it to me) we collected 118 POUNDS OF FOOD! WAY TO GO DREADHEADS! Just goes to show how much we can do when we put our mind to it! But we all knew that, right! Are you going to Ft Wayne too now? My aunt and I are totally going, haha...Because that venue is about half the size of the others on the tour and it's in the middle of the week. Can someone say quality time with Jason? I bet so.

Oh, no, Barbara! Well at least you got a wonderful hug from Jason that made everybody green with envy! What's going on in Germany? Man I miss Munich; that's a great town...
Yes, I will do the bus deal all over in Ft Wayne! ;-) Didn't get more than about 30 seconds with the head dreadhead because of press. Ya never know how long it'll be before Jason is back out on the road, and seeing as it's a straight drive for me down US 30, I have no reason not to.
And Sarah, I am glad so much food was collected. I think I only talked to you for 2 seconds when I ran to your car to give you food, but we can chat in Ft Wayne now. Whoo-hoo!
Sorry I'm like 'high' right now because I found a video by accident on youtube that someone else took in Chicago, and my conversation with Michael Johns is on there, and most of my conversation (though it's broken up) with Jason is as well. I totally didn't hear him say my drawing was in his living room or his compliments. Given the fact that he had like 10 minutes to press time and half of the line still left waiting, I am looking back on it now going, "What a nice guy." Ft Wayne shall be fun!

www.daydreamingboy.com/forum/index.php?topic=680.255I have seen those drawings before! I think on the American Idol site. Coolness! You're very talented. I only did one (but it had 3 Jasons in it) and I had posted in the DDB art gallery but not in the forum art gallery, so I just added it today:
www.daydreamingboy.com/forum/index.php?topic=680.270Yeah, au pairs kind of like are live-in assistants, right? Like they take care of kids or take care of the house or that kind of thing...from what I understand. That's not a bad gig if you have a nice host family! Are you in downtown Chicago or the suburbs? :-) I hope your host family treated you well...my host family in France when I studied abroad was "nice" but like didn't want to teach me anything, didn't want to take me to things. They moved out of our apartment a couple months before the end of my semester and left me to kind of fend for myself in the apartment. It was kind of shocking to me. My host mom just needed extra money so she slept on the couch and had me sleep in one room, her 2 sons sleep in the other, and a Japanese exchange student sleep in the 3rd room. Really weird situation... But I still learned a ton and my French was great by the time I left. Now it's terrible, haha, because I haven't spoken it regularly in so long. But it was nice to hear Jason singing, "Michelle, my belle, sont les mots qui vont tres bien ensemble, tres bien ensemble." Because I could tell that he was getting the pronunciation down very well in such a short time, and was actually impressed. It took me 4 years to say the french R with confidence and this guy pulls it off in a week!
Onward to Ft Wayne!!!!

ok we are totally off topic here
i've seen your drawing before and it's amazing. i love it.
yes i live with my host family and take care of the kids and help where ever i can. my host family is awesome. i love them like my own family and they are really good to me. i'd love to stay for another year but i have to go back and get school started. i live in a suburb...river forest, close to oak park.
where did you live in france? my hometown is really close to the french border, it only takes me 15-20 minutes and then i'm in france. so i speak french too, but my english is much better than my french

Awesome, thanks. :-) I lived in Aix-en-Provence actually, so closer to the Italian border.
My English is also better than my French. Haha. Your English is perfect, which I would expect from a German. ;-) You guys are insanely good at languages. Does your family at home watch American Idol or do they have a German version or both? I am glad you met an American "celebrity" while you were here!
Jason looked great in Chicago, didn't he? Seemed well-rested. I didn't see him yawn at all, and he's described himself as a yawner. That was such a great show, too. I don't think Ramiele knew that the Chicago concert-goers are always louddddd. Much louder than other cities. Chicago is a big music-loving city.

i've been there. aix-en-provence is a beautiful town. as a kid i spent mostly all of my vacations somewhere in france but always close to the ocean
not all germans are good at languages. why do all people think that we're good at languages? my host family and their friends and extended family say that i have a talent for languages, i wish they would tell that my teachers.
in germany we don't really know what's going on with american tv shows other than scrubs, grey's anatomy etc. we have our own version of american idol called "deutschland sucht den superstar" ("germany is looking for the superstar") stupid name if you ask me. the contestants in germany are not that good. i think all the winners wouldn't make it to the top 24 or hollywood week here. and that's why i don't watch it. they picked the judges so that they match with randy, paula and simon. the only thing is they really don't know what they're talking about.
i saw beyoncé at macy's in new york on my 2nd day in the states
. where do you live? downtown or in the suburbs?
jason is gorgeous. you're right i didn't see him yawn. i so want a picture of my hug with jason or a video...does anybody have a picture or a video of it? i would have done it myself but i just didn't expect that he would hug me.

Haha, because every German I've met in Germany or in the States (under the age of 30 anyway) has spoken perfect English, haha. And my ex-boyfriend is German...
I wish I had taken a picture of that hug or caught it on camera! But I soooo didn't see that coming! :-) You're such a lucky girl.
Oh, that's cool about the Beyonce thing. New York is a really easy place to spot celebs. They're everywhere. I was there for 5 days and saw like 10 or 15 haha.
Jason gave you a hugggggg! That's a great memory to leave with, right? You can keep posting on here and just stay really involved in keeping up with Jason news. That'll pass the time until you can see him on tour again!
