Hey y'all!
I'll be going to Jason's show at Jammin' Java and I was wondering if anyone knows if he'll be doing meet -n- greets for this tour like he did with the mall shows. If anyone knows anything about that, please let me know.
Not that this information will at all effect my enjoyment of the concert...it's going to be an amazing night, regardless. But, I've been curious. ;D
Soooooooo, who else is joining me in Vienna? #thguitar#

The Jammin' Java show was pretty awesome! I got to meet several cool people, starting with Mandy at the merch. table. She was setting up the calendars trying to decide which month to display. She settled on March, a very appropriate choice and I smiled and told her my favorite months were January and December. She laughed and said "Yeah, those are nice too!" I bought a t-shirt (wanted the EP too, but it was sold out. I've since downloaded it from the JCM store.)
Resuming the recap:
Then, a little later on my good friend Gaby, who I met on the Castro Cafe last year, arrived and we got to meet face to face for the first time. I couldn't have asked for better company. My Mom got a some great pictures of Jason which I hope to have online real soon. Caitlin Crosby had a cool vibe about her. She reminded me a lot of Mariann Faithful, actually. But, the best part of the night was getting to meet Jason! It was my first time meeting him, and he was so nice! He announced at the end of his set that he'd be hanging out by the merch. table for autographs and photos but he was mobbed before he even got there. He didn't seem to mind, though. He was very attentive and polite to all of his fans, (including me...I shook his hand. And he smiled big and said it was nice to meet me.) and then I followed him back to the merch. table, (actually, my Mom dragged me there at the speed of light, haha. I don't know if there was an official line to meet him. People just seemed to be gathered around him in a big jumble. But, if there was a line, I'm sure we probably cut. My Mom pulled me right up to the front...GO MOMMA!) I got my picture taken with him, (which is now framed and proudly displayed in my room.) and he told Gaby and I that he remembered talking to me on the phone when he was on the mall tour and went on to say to me "I'm glad you could make it out this time." I said "Me too!" Then, he happily signed my favorite sweatshirt on the right arm. I thanked him, and then I actually left, so I didn't see Matt Hires. (Jason was really the person I was there to see anyway, and I had to get up early for work...so if anyone has a Matt Hires story, I'd love to be filled in on what I missed. He's very talented.) So, on the whole, I'd definitely give the evening a 10 for entertainment.
As far as the venue was concerned, I'd rate Jammin' Java as a 7 or 8. They earn major brownie points for reserving such great seats for me. I had a perfect view of the stage. The only thing I have to take issue with is the wait time to get into the show area. Java is a very small place, and when you cram over 100 people into a tiny entryway for an hour and a half you're going to have a heap of trouble. But, this was countered by the privilege of watching Jason in sound check. He seemed very amused by our enthusiasm, haha. It was a great night!

Hey JSweetthing!
I remember reading another person's recap of this venue and their's was not nearly as wonderful as yours. I don't remember who it was but I am thrilled you had a great time.
I saw him a few days later in NYC and I too had a wonderful time meeting him and enjoyed the whole show with Caitlin and Matt.
So glad you got to meet him! Whoop it really is the best! ;D
I do hope those kids are staying well. They keep getting sick it's a tough time of year to be traveling!

Aww...thanks Carolyn.
Yes, I hope I get to meet Jason again real soon. He was so, so nice. And, I also hope they are traveling safe and staying healthy, (I'm sure they are to the best of their abilities). Winter has been especially brutal this year.
