please don't put his official songs on you tube or anywhere public. people can rip songs off of you tube. everything from this day forth should not be put on a public medium such as youtube for people to rip/download for free. share privately if you will, but we want people to actually go out and purchase his music. also, i encourage all of you to keep your eyes and ears open. if you see his studio recordings of his original songs anywhere that can be ripped off and downloaded for free, we should kindly ask them to upload the live versions instead where fans can still listen and enjoy his music, yet there'll be a yearning for something more polished and concrete.

Thats right, when it comes to Jason's official singles and album, be stingy, don't share! We want him to get credit for all his sales! Thanks for reminding everyone!

Well said... I have never downloaded or "ripped off" any music from Jason or any other artist, (I've never even legally bought music online.) and I never will. I just don't believe in it. I'm an old school girl that way...I prefer CDs. They let you enjoy a whole series of great tunes rather than one at a time. Plus, in waiting for the album, the surprise element is there, it makes the music that much more special when it hits the stores :-)

HAHA, actually maybe I'd feel SLIGHTLY different about it if I had an iPod (though I still wouldn't download or purchase music illegally.) But, I don't have one and really have no real use for one right now. (old school girl rears her ugly head) So, I don't see the value in it. Even if I had an iPod, I'd probably still use full length CDs much more often.

lol... sweetthing... I've been stuck on old school too, been hanging on to my portable CD-player for a long time, but now I've got my very own mp3-player... fancy little thing... and I must say it is a lot easier to bring with me! I've been converted (so to speak...) ;D

Here's a tech question: I like to play music for my students so I bring cd's to class and play them. How can i connect my ipod to my computer so we could listen that way?

Shelbytex, I wish I could help you there, but as I said I don't own an iPod so I don't know off the top of my head :-( It is probably easy enough to figure out, though. Maybe, if you don't find an answer here, one of your students can "shine some light" on it? (Haha, a little play on Castro humor there...)
Anyway: Borntorun, oh absolutely. MP3 Players and iPods are much more handy in terms of being on the go, I'll give them that. They're great inventions in that respect. I just feel that they tend to take away from the full impact of a truly great album because people tend to only put a certain number of singles on them. You get more variety that way, but you're not really hearing any of the artists the way they were meant to be heard and I just think that's kind of sad. Thus ends my sermon for today, haha. Happy Easter everyone!

If you have iTunes it's easy. Plug your iPod into the USB port on your computer, and iTunes should recognize your iPod. You can play whatever you want from there! I've found the support areas at apple.com to be really helpful if you have more questions about it.

But I'll ask my students. I hadn't thought of that. Thanks.

Very well said and I agree whole heartly - to be blunt this is the time where we. "put our money where are mouth is". I will proudly demo this CD for anyone who wants to listen, then they can buy it, if they are too broke and have no way i'll buy it for them. No downloading, no file sharing, no coping. We should take like a JasonCastroFan oath or something. #bearhug#

You may wanna concider just bringing in a CD player and putting it on nonstop rotation. Haha...

Good reminder. When Jason gets big, it won't matter as much. This is not to condone illegal downloading, but it affects larger successful artists much less than it does new up and coming artists. Every record/single sale matters much more when you're starting out.

I could not agree more. I will be buying the CD as well as buying from itunes, if possible. Me too... Itunes is just to 'tide me over". i don't have an ipod, so i have to burn everythink. i can't WAIT for the real, tangible cD to hold it my hand, with artwork, liner notes, etc. I hope atlantic will let jason release a "live' album. Almost always, i prefer live over studio, once the noise is cleaned up. Studio is too often over-produced, and too perfect to sound real.

Well not to condone stealing, but essentially, yes, that's the idea... hahaha, you made me laugh! #rofl1# Ehhhhh...ok, not to say I haven't ripped friends' CDs, 'cause I have... but not paying for music hurts every artist, big or small. Sure they make very little from it when they're on a label, and make more off the CD if they're indie...but either way, slumping music sales is no good for any artist. They just pay for it in different ways. A big artist might be dropped from their label or forced to sign a contract they don't like that offers additional sources of income for the label (like tour revenues) besides song sales to subsidize the cost of making their record. A smaller artist just wouldn't be able to pay their rent and wouldn't be able to continue making music. However, well-known artists who are dropped from their label also find it difficult to continue to make music. So really... if you aren't supporting the artist in some way, they cannot survive. Most major artists rely on merchandise sales/endorsement deals because of this. And thus the cost of concerts will continue to rise. -Debbie Downer (heheh)

Shelby, I just recently bought this and I love it. This is a standalone player and charger and just plugs into an electrical socket. The sound is great and your ipod stays charged. You just pop the ipod out if you want to use it with earplugs. I got it in white to match my ipod. You can also get it shipped for free to your nearest Walmart and pick it up there. There are many such items available at other stores as well.
