dreadlockduderocks: my Jasy Wasy---haha, you're so cute!

Okay so here comes the really exciting part... Final song.. Keep in mind during the first two songs I was waving my poster around like a CRAZY person just hoping and praying he'd notice it! Well all of that paid off! Right smack in the middle of "Daydream" he looks at me.. for literally 2 minutes I'm not even kidding.. and it looked like he may have almost stumbled over the words because he was trying not to laugh.. But man, he was staring right at me.. laughed.. pointed to my sign.. and winked!!!!! I am not even kidding guys! I went crazy!! Everyone sitting around me had turned to look at me and they were all so excited for me giving me highfives and thumbs up! I even ran over to the inclined seats to highfive a dreadhead I met earlier hahaha. AND to top it off... My parents who were sitting way up high in the incline seats even saw it!! It was a special moment for me =).
okay, i'm literally jealous. no kidding.
but you're so creative with your sign, you deserved that wink!
Quote from: BRiTTANYMARiE43 on July 13, 2008, 09:47:13 PM
So Jason is walking right past us and at this point, they told him he needed to stop signing too.. He walked by me and I asked if he could sign one more thing and he politely said "No, I'm really really sorry they are making us get back on the bus" and so I said "waaaait please it's just my bag.." he said "I'm sorry =(" sad face and all haha. I almost gave up because he did already sign something for me and I shouldn't have been greedy.. But then it just came out of me and I said "It's my DREADHEAD BAG!!! Please!!" You guys I couldn't believe it. He literally stopped in his tracks and told his security guy to hold on. Walked right up to me, smiled, and signed my dreadhead bag. As if he couldn't get any more perfect there he goes being the most adorable guy ever!
ah, he's so niiiiiice. how many times have i said that.....
thanks for sharing, love your story!
Quote from: cba on July 14, 2008, 01:27:10 AM
The greatest thing she heard though was hearing someone ask Jason to marry her and hearing Jason say, “I'll think about it.” Then the female voice said, “Oh, this a sad day.” and Jason answered, “It's not a sad day, I didn't say, No.” This totally won my daughter over to the dreadhead way of thinking and I'll bet whoever asked him that question will tell her grandkids about it someday.
woah, jason said that?!? teaser!
Quote from: cba on July 14, 2008, 01:27:10 AM
He never was unkind and posed for so many photos and signed all kinds of things. One girl asked him to sing “Hallelujah” and he funnily sang the word “Hallelujah” then hurried along. He is a beautiful person and seems to be that way inside also. Jason finally went out the gate but then turned and came back and got his gift bags and the stuff that he had left by the back fence. He went back out the gate then turned and waved. It was really cute.
As Martha would say, “It was a good thing!!”
thanks for sharing the story, cba! and welcome to ddb.

I was @ the show last night too!! ttulsa I think we were supposed to meet up and we never did! Mostly because I'd been MIA on this thing up until a few days ago.. Anyway, I wonder if I saw you there?! I had a "Mrs. Castro" poster w/two dreadhead faces (boy and girl) I wonder if you saw me!? You mentioned something about "two other mrs. castros" haha. That waiting in line from 1230 to about 430 was pretty painful just to have them not come out huh?!.. but mannnn the rest of the night was amazing!!! Kay guys here's my story. Be ready to read a looooong one =)
lol yeah ttulsa and I saw you there with your sign, I pointed it out and said "hey that girl has my sn on her sign!" lol ;D
I'm so jealous that you all got to meet him after the show, I couldn't go to the show because I am very very pregnant (if anyone saw me there before the show you know what I'm talking about lol)
I was really bummed because I got there just after 11am and waited in the horrible heat (yes, like someone else said, 85 degrees for us Washingtonians is blistering lol and being pregnant makes it even worse) and the stupid security guards kept saying "the idols will be out in a few minutes, they're coming out really soon, blah blah blah" and they even set up guard rails at about 2:00 so we thought for sure that they were going to come out for a little while but I guess they weren't expecting so many people to show up so they said it was a security risk for the idols to come out before the concert.
I did get to take pictures of most of them through the fence, but it was pretty disappointing to have sat there for 6 hours and not have gotten an autograph

Yup, we saw you. I thought about going over to talk to you but we'd seen other dreadheads that were there that didn't seem like they wanted to socialize so I stayed where I was. How funny that three of the Mrs Castros from this site were at the Tacoma concert.
On one hand I wish that I had chased Jason around to see him more but on the other, I'm happy I stayed put because I got to see and talk to everyone for a little bit. I'm glad that I was standing there when Syesha came by and said what she did because it made me realize, like for real instead of just in theory, that she was not in any way responsible for the fiasco on AI. I now feel like a mama bear towards her and I just want to wrap her in a plastic bubble. She's just another human being thrown under the AI bus for their entertainment and ratings.

So on MJ"s site a blogger wrote that a pizza delivery guy showed up and someone had ordered Jason a pizza!
Was it one of you guys?!!
Funny huh...wonder if that was true?!

-crazydo- lol! No, the poster TOTALLY did it for me! If it weren't for the poster, I wouldn't have had anything else to say.. it broke the ice because he literally saw it from 2pm... until midnight! haha. I wish I could mail it off to you so you could use it, but I have to save it for memories! Here.. I'll post a pic of it in case you want to do something similar.. (original LOGO props to blaker!!). That way when you meet him.. Tell him you know me, and that I say hi and I miss him! He'll remember me.. I hope =). So it's a win-win situation.. you get his attention and get a pic or two.. and I get a message to him!! I do really hope you get your Jason experience like I got mine! It was seriously the best entire day of my life.. I'm still waiting for a clear video on youtube so I can catch the whole point-laugh-wink moment but so far, nothing! I can however see myself jumping up and down with my poster rediculously in one of the videos.. that's pretty embarassing haha.
The poster that got me some Jason love!!
I remember seeing your poster!! Mine was a giant canadian flag lol..if anyone saw it..

I don't think it was ONLY for Jason lol. Considering there were 4 pizza's! But yeah a pizza delivery person DID show up with food for them! We asked Chikeze if the pizza's were in fact theirs and he said "Yep!" and we said "Mmm delicious.." and then he said "..yeaah, but I won't be eating any. I'm vegan!" You learn somethin new every day lol!

lol I didn't mean to steal your screenname for my sign! It took me 4 hours just to come up with what the heck I was going to put on it! I wish we could have all met up and talked but people in those lines were pretty grumpy so it's probably best we stayed in our spots! I feel for ya being pregnant and having to wait forrrrrever! I was the one who said that 85 degree weather was waaay hot. And really, I'm not kidding. hahah I know you know what I mean. People think that's nothin, but 85 is a LOT for us in Washington and to be standing directly in it.. I got a tan line just from it! Well congrats on the pregnancy and when Jason comes back next year (ooooh I hope he does!), we'll all have to meet up!

Okay good.. So it's not just me. There were a LOT of grumps in that line right? haha not saying it was the Dreadheads specifically but nobody was having any fun in line
I guess it could be due to the heat.. Oh well! So it sounds like the "Mrs. Castros" took over the Tacoma venue! Perhaps we should start a Mrs. Castro's group haha. And BTW. I cannot even believe someone said that to Syesha. Especially considering DURING the concert, she mentioned something along the lines of having a bad day. There were a few people in Washington that definitely embarassed me. I hope the idol's don't hold it against us! I had to apologize to Cook for something someone else said.. Some people have no shame!

Well besides the 13 year olds asking Cook to sign their underwear, which we apologized for.. I also had to apologize for other people getting wayyyy to personal. Asking about him and Kim. Which they ARE still dating. After he noted that, you'd think they'd give it a rest! But no.. then going as far as saying well do you let KIM touch your butt? Why wont you let ME touch it? In which he replied.. "Um well, SHE'S my girlfriend. Why wouldn't I let HER touch it.." Then they continued on with the whole.. IF I were your gf would you let me touch it? It was sooo embarassing.. Really annoying as well. And you could tell he was pretty P.O.ed. Because after that had happened someone literally threw their sign at him and they were standing behind people so it hit everyone on the way and he said "Um, that was pretty rude." Yeah.. definitely embarassed I'm sure he doesn't have the greatest thoughts on Washington =(.

So I'm late getting here to post but wanted to add a few thoughts. I am sooooo happy for those of you who stuck it out and got to see Jason!!! I brought my daughter with me and she was wayyy too tired afterwards to stick around to try and see Jason, so we headed home after the concert. Thanks everyone for sharing -- I can picture him now signing stuff and posing for pix. Almost like I was there too (...not really, but I have to make myself feel better somehow).
Most of you covered it already, but here's my 2 cents:
Chickeze: was surprisingly good, kept the crowd entertained
Ramiele: first song (The Jackson 5, I think) was pretty good, but it went downhill from there. Not too exciting.
Michael Johns: as good as I expected, he knows how to rock an arena
Kristy Lee: I was NOT a fan during the show, but she really impressed me with her first and last songs (don't care if I hear her ever sing "God Bless the USA" again). This was the first time I thought she may actually make a career of singing
Carly: great voice, a little too screechy at times but dang good on the subtler stuff like the opening of the Heart song
Brooke: Very pleasantly surprised that she sounded so good in the big arena. I really liked the Feist number and Yellow. Whaddya know, my second fav of the night.
JASON: As everyone has said already, he was outstanding. He looked and sounded very confident. He put a little added inflection in all of his songs so they sounded richer and better live than on the show. My fav, kinda surprised me, was Daydream. He's come sooooo far since that first performance, he added the other verse(s) and gave it his all. Man, I wish they'd sell an iTunes of the concert version! And get this ladies --- HE'S EVEN CUTER IN PERSON THAN HE LOOKS ON TV!! Even my daughter, a David C fan, got a crush on Jason. And there were plenty of adorable goofy faces during all the songs. Sigh.... The only problem with his set was that it was entirely too short.
Syesha: Wow, I thought she'd be better live. Wayyyy too much theatrics and yelling (doesn't equate to singing in my book). "Umbrella" was dreadful! Rhianna should make her stop butchering that song. My daughter turned to me in the middle of the second (neverending) song and asked hopefully, "is this the third song?". Sorry honey, but no. Ugh.
David A: He didn't live up to the hype for me. Best was "Stand By Me". I was expecting to like it more though. Definitely got the highest pitched crowd reaction. And maybe even louder than for Cook??
David C: He knows how to rock, that's for sure. He entertained me, but I'd never pay for another Cook concert unless he was opening for Jason (hehe).
I realized what I really want is a 2 hr concert of just Jason. Brooke or Carly could open for him and I'd be content. It was a beautiful NW summer day for Jason to come to our city. Nice meeting you chasinjason and the other nice Jason fans in front of us!

i watched Jason's Tacoma Daydream and having comparing it with his other two performances i agree, that one is amazingly good!
and oh yeah, funny your remark about Cook opening for Jason, haha. SO TRUE.

I gave him that lei, and that just made my day.
Thank you guys for snapping pictures with Jason wearing the rainbow lei! I didn't think to have him wear it before our photo was taken (I'm surprised my mind was even functioning during the whole time meeting the Idols) and only managed to get a picture of him leaving:
I'm going to be posting a lengthy concert review on my Livejournal very soon. It's already 9:00pm here so I'll probably complete it by tomorrow, and I'll definitely share the blog with you guys. Until then, here's my Photobucket album with pictures from the show:

I might need to borrow your poster, I mean if it made an impression on him once, just think how special it'd be for him to see it again......... ;D ;D ;D I promise
I'm only thinking of how special that poster must be to Jason. hahahahaha
*lying through my teeth, thinking the poster might get me an in ? ;D
Crazydo...you need to make a poster about skipping school to see him....especially since you are the teacher

It's fun to see all the reviews and pictures! I enjoyed the fabulous concert and a treasured moment with Jason.
A shout out to Seattle_girl who posted earlier in this thread...how nice to find a fellow fan seated nearby! Great to meet you.
I am sorry you didn't get to go outside to the bus afterward.
I got 8 of the idols' autographs (but few pictures because my camera battery was dying off and I had to save its final dying gasps for Jason
) and I lived up to my name and did a little chasin' at the very end.
That is when I got my special finale to the Idol experience.
After Jason went through the gate, I had a split second to see him before he vanished from view. He suddenly leaned forward like a speed skater and took off at a boyish hiked up leg dash toward the bus. He is just precious.

OoOokay so we get there about 1230 which I had planned on getting there by 1130.. GOOD THING WE DIDN'T! haha. My friends and I stood outside in the blazing heat for almost 4 hours. Yes blazing heat. 85 degrees was a lot for us =). Anyway, the idols never showed. We just got to peek at them through the fence which was exciting.. but not too exciting. I decided to be a good girl and stayed in my place in line for a long time. Up until I heard people start screaming "JASON JASON JASON!" so I ran over to the fence, couldn't get very close but I yelled his name as loud as I could and got his attention! He looked up and noticed my sign and smiled =). I thought that was all I was going to get and I have to admit I was pretty happy that he showed me some attention!! Anyway.. after my small Jason experience we continued to wait in a line until 430 which got us nothing.. Unfortunately they couldn't come out and we were all pretty bummed...
Soo we kill time @ some weird Tacoma mall place that I never even knew existed and just get some food before the real fun started. We get into the Tacoma dome at about.. 715.. Yeahhh we were pretty late because we were having WAY too much fun @ the KUBE booth with the karaoke singers haha! Anyway on to the concert.. It was really hard for me to concentrate and get into it because honestly I was on my "Jason high" I call it.. Only wanted to see him, that glimpse through the fence was a tease! =).
So Chikeze comes on.. He's never been a favorite but he did an okay job! Odd song choices I think? Anyway, he's got a cool personality and he's super sweet =).
Thenn comes Ramielle. And she's a cutie and I was dancing a little but I didn't love it. She did sing her heart out I'll give her that much!!
Then Mr. Michael Johns. MAN OH MAN that guy can PERFORM! He nailed it!! I was sooooo excited the entire time he performed! I couldn't sit down he just kept going and going.. and "it's all wrong, but it's all right" and how he dedicated it to all the ladies..... absolutely amazing!!! Love that guy; what a hunk =).
Kristy oh Kristy.. Never really cared for her but I do have to say she sang her songs quite nicely! And I don't know how I missed it, but I didn't know she was born in Seattle? She gets a few points for that haha.
Carly. Her and Michael Johns were right up there with each other. Her Evanescence performance was perfect.. Totally her style and I never even thought to compare her to Amy (the lead singer). Verrrrry nice job to Carly.. Great voice & lots of enthusiam. Also.. a TON of Carly fans @ the Tacoma Dome!! I was pretty shocked about that one! Go Carly =)
Rounding up the first 6 was Brooke. She's adorable there's not much else to say.. "Let it be" was just as amazing as it was when she sang it on the show. She's so smiley and bubbly I couldn't help but dance along to "one two three four tell me that you love me more!" hahah I loved it.
INTERMISSSSSSSSSSSION
Okay here's what you've all been waiting for. Best moment of my LIFE (until later that night haha). So I run up to get my program while I have a few minutes during intermission because I want Jason to sign it after.. and run back to my seat in record time. I think I was only gone a total of 30 seconds hahah. Anyway wait patiently in my seat literally shaking because I was THAT excited for Jason! Then lights dim and I know exactly what's about to happen. I frrrrrrreaked out! Screamed for probably the first 5 minutes straight haha. Our head dreadhead sang "OTR" flawlessly. Absolutely FLAWLESSLY! Screamed my head off for that one! Next came "crazy". I was sooo impressed with the video that had been on youtube for a while but I must say in person it was 10000 times better!!!! Anyway, I had to pass my camera over to my friend because I was shaking so much I couldn't take clear ones anymore haha. And that was me in my ten minutes of Jason heaven.
Next up; David Archuleta.. Adorable.. Great voice. Great job. His dad walked by us while Kristy was performing. We had aisle seats so he was literally right there.. He looked like a leprechaun.. Not very attractive haha which is odd cause his mom is GORGEOUS. Oh well =)
David Cook.. He was okay.. Well maybe just to me, I mean he has a great voice but at this point I was way too into Jason to really care. I'm sorry Cook! SoOo we left right after he sang "time of my life" to go out and wait in the famous line from earlier.
If anyone that has yet to go to a show is reading this and really wants to meet the idols.. My advice is wait. Just wait. No matter how long you have to wait, if it's that important to you, it'll be worth it! Sorry it's such a long story! I'm very detailed!!
So by the time we got out there, there were about 8 people in front of us.. and within 45 minutes it probably grew to maybe 300ish? I think we probably waited an hour and a half for them to come out. But let me tell you.. Jason was the first to come out and just seeing him in person.. right in front of me.. signing my program.. taking a picture with him while his arm was touching my back... I would have waited any amount of time to get that feeling! And I sure did... 5 and a half hours of waiting and I finally met him. =). So he makes his way down the line after we get our love time with him and we get to meet all of the other idols. Which let me add.. I didn't really like David Cook. He had this arrogant attitude about him. Well I guess it could've been because the girls standing next to me were so rediculous.. Asking him to sign their underwear and wondering if they could touch his butt? Sick and pretty weird? Oh, and btw.. one of the girls was only 13! I don't know what that was all about but some of the Washington fans embarassed me..
Anyway I got all of their autographs except for Carly, Ramielle, & David A.. Which was fine with me.. We decided to wait where we were because all of the idols had to walk past us again to get back to the busses and I really wanted to see Jason just one more time and have him sign my dreadhead bag. SoOo I see him making his way back towards us about an hr and a half later and stopping for EACH AND EVERY PERSON. He really is the worlds biggest sweetheart. He made sure not to leave ANYONE out of a picture or an autograph. By this time all of the security guards had already made Michael, Ramielle, Syesha, Carly, and Kristy go back to the bus and told them they had to stop signing and taking pics. So they obeyed =(. I mean it was about 1210am lol. (Ps. I got Michael Johns' very last autograph!)
What a night! I'll remember it forever and ever!! Jason is just as perfect and sweet as you'd like to think. Ahh. Absolutely breathtaking. =). Sorry this is a NOVEL but I had to get it off my chest I had been waiting for this day foreverrrr it seems!
WHAT did your sign say???

BrittanyMarie,
There is a picture by the great Micki Chicki on Castrocopia's forum from the Tacoma show. It is of Jason pointing out to someone during his set. I watched the video, but can't tell if it is the same as when he points to you during Daydream. Here is the link to check out the post:

Thanks Brittany Marie! That would be great!
I'm FINALLY done writing my concert review! It's not perfect, but it will suffice for now. I also have the Photobucket link to more of my pictures and the link to the Youtube account I've created with subscriptions to all of the Tacoma videos.

OMG!!! Thank you so so so so so so so much for the info!!! That is TOTALLY the moment he pointed at me!! She saved the picture as "Daydream" which means he was definitely singing that song.. and then I made sure by watching the video over and over that he only pointed out into the audience once... and he did! Just once!! I'm soooo excited you made my day =).

It was great reading everyone's stories of the concert and seeing Jason. It is a shame that some people have to be so mean and rude like that. I am not overly crazy about Sayesha, mainly because I feel like her 3rd place belonged to Jason. That was not her fault and it worked out the best for Jason anyway. Despite that I would never say or do anything rude like that. They way they were treating Cook that is awful too. How embrrassing for him.
I guess there are rude people everywhere. I know that fanforever already mentioned this. While we were waiting for the buses in Portland, her 9 year old daughter tried to move towards the front to get Brooke's autograph. Someone cussed at her and she came back crying. I felt so bad for her. That is totally uncalled for.

Great stories, thanks to all of you!
It's sad to hear about people being rude, and grumpy in line. Even though you don't like everyone in this whole world, you will have to do your best to leave it be.
Better not to say anything than being rude or do anything to hurt someone.
Remember the words of Jason:
"I think arrogant people disappoint me. Nobody has a right to think they are better than anyone else."
"The fundamentals of my faith tells be that we're all the same... You know, I'm no better, but no worse, than anybody else... I think everybody should just keep that in mind."
"My mom taught me never to make a person look wrong. I am just respectful."
These I try to live by, and did even before I knew Jason said them! I think it is important to show respect for other people how different we might be!

Brittany Marie, I'm glad you found pic and he was singing Daydream. Drea, thanks for pointing her there. So cool! He was so awesome during the set - so relaxed and smiley. He just radiates happiness!!
I so wanted to stay after the concert to try to meet him but we had already driven down from Everett/Mill Creek and didn't want to stay 1-2 hours plus drive back 1-2 hours (depending on traffic) north. Wish we would have stayed after all but oh well!
He is just so darling.
