I just about jumped out of my chair when I saw that this will be his first stop! I will be there, along with everyone else from my email address book I can convince to come with me! I can't wait! It's been almost a year since I've seen a live show (a very, very long year) and I know this one will be the best yet!

These mall appearances are great because you can invite and take all your friends and co-workers and family. Thanks for bringing that up!!

Southdale is very close to where I grew up, so it's like Jason is coming to MY LIVING ROOM!
I will be there!
Can't wait to meet ekschiller and friends! Who else will be there???
It's very easy to get to Southdale - it's between highways 494 and 62 on France Avenue (about a mile west of 35W).

sorry i didnt put my recap in here sooner!
2:34pm: at the mall of america, got the tweet me for pre-show hang tweet! i have never typed so fast in my life!
3pm: My Mom and I met up with sheribaby at PF Changs...had lunch with her and discussed whether or not we were going to win the twitter contest and why Jason wasn't picking anyone yet!
3:55pm: I got a direct message from @jasoncastro saying to call this number and they would give me more info. So I called right away! I talked to Chris, one of Jason's marketing managers and he said they weren't at the venue yet and weren't sure how the pre-show thing was going to go so he would call me back when they got there. He said something that made it sound like I could bring someone so I asked to clarify and he said I could bring one person! My mom wasn't very interested and was fine with going shopping for awhile so I asked sheri to come with me! Of course, she said YESSS!
4pm: went to the stage and looked around a bit...met up with Liz! Super fun person whose husband is just as much of a fan as she is! He surprised her with tickets to Garland last year for her birthday. He was so excited and an AWESOME street teamer!!! Big thanks to them!
4:20pm: JASON ARRIVES! There were only a few people around at this time. Liz and her friends, sheri, me and my Mom and a few other lurkers. Jason heads up on stage and starts to get out his guitar. He says hi to us and nobody really answered him so I walked up closer to talk to him. Asked how he was and what not then THE Diamond Dave came over! I said 'HI DAVE!' right away! haha sheri was beside me then and we talked to Dave for awhile. He asked if we had any idea how many people and we didnt :-( But we talked about the snow a little and I really don't remember what else.
4:35ish: Jason and his people leave. Did some street teaming while we were waiting! Handed out a ton of fliers and told people to come back and see Jason at 6! We did this while Jason was sound checking too because he was drawing a crowd :-)
4:45: Chris calls back and asks where we were, I said we were right by where Jason was sound checking. He was like 'oh, we probably saw you then' So then he said he'd come back up and get us in about 10-15 minutes. So then Sheri and I stood there waiting. We saw them walk away so we had an idea of where Chris would be coming from. We saw him walking up, not quite sure if it was who we were waiting for but knew he was with Jason earlier, so Sheri flagged him down! We introduced ourselves and explained we were Street Team leaders and started walking to Jason's DRESSING ROOM!
So we walk in and there is Jason! Dave is there too and a couple other Atlantic guys . Jason recognized us from earlier and welcomed us, said to pull up some chairs and have a seat! He even pulled out chairs for us! sheri, Jason and I sat in a little triangle and chatted! Chris, Dave and whoever else was there were on the other side of the room chatting and just left us with Jason!
Jason asked where we were from and how far we had to come. I seriously don't remember what I said exactly but I must have said Sioux Falls, SD and he goes "is that the one that's spelled like s-i-ox?" I just laughed and said "yeah that's the one!" haha he's so cuuuuute! We talked about his schedule and he told us the story of the alarm clock next door waking him up at 4am. He said the one in his room went off after that and that he didn't set it and literally wripped it out of the wall to make it stop. He said by then he was aggravated and just got up at 5:30 but he wasn't planning on getting up til 6.
Oh yeah! Best buy! If you saw Jason's tweets today he was filming something for Best Buy. He explained it to us! So here's the scoop! Jason said he'll have a couple (i think?) songs/performances and an interview playing on the tv screens at Best Buy! He didn't say when that would start but they filmed it today! So be on the lookout for Jason at a Best Buy near you!
Sheri and I explained who we were, state leaders, covering 5 states. I told him we just saw him in Kansas City and he started to remember who we were. He said he knew we looked familiar! But then I asked him if he had read the book I gave him in KC and it was like a light went on in his head! haha he said 'ohhh now I remember! but I haven't read it yet. I just started this one..." and then he dug in his bag and showed it to us. He told us all about the plot.
Jason asked if we had eaten yet, said we ate at PF Changs a little earlier. We asked where he was going and he said he wanted a cheese steak. We talked about restaurants around the mall. People kept coming in and out, asking Jason questions here and there and everyone was seriously SOOOO NICE! I LOVE ATLANTIC! wow! I had some of the flyers laying on the table and Chris came over and was like 'oh those turned out good!' I asked if he had seen them yet and showed them to him. I showed them to Jason too cuz he hadn't seen them yet.
I remembered to ask Jason Pook's question from KC about how he chose what songs to put on the album. He explained that he recorded 16 songs and then after working on them certain songs would stick out that he liked better or his voice sounded better on. Then they got it down to 11 by trying to fit all the songs together so that it sounds good as a whole. Jason also said that he knew there were going to be bonus tracks for certain things so he really got to pick more than 11. NOTE: bonus track comes out Nov 17th since the album was pushed back! if you've preordered you'll get more info about downloading it! Not sure what song it'll be though...didn't ask Jason!
The other guys were going to go get some food and someone asked what Jason wanted. Jason said he wanted a cheese steak with tomato, lettuce, mustard and mayo. Jason counted it out on his hand and then asked if he needed to write it down. So the other guys were going to get something to eat and Dave asked Jason a couple times if he was ok being left alone with me and Sheri. haha jason just said, yeah it's fine. ha
Everyone else left and Jason said he needed to start getting ready. We told him we could leave, it seriously wasn't a big deal! Oh yeah, Jason was telling us how tired he was and that his voice was starting to fade from the Best Buy thing so he wanted to save his voice. So he said he would get ready and stop talking as much but he told us to stay and he got out his guitar! He told us about the problems with the uke. The bottom string was kind of ping-ing when he was play it but he thought he could still do SOTR if he just played up higher and didnt use that string. He said he didn't want to NOT play it! I asked if that was his new guitar but he said it was his old one. We didn't get to finish hearing that because Chris came back in and said the radio station wanted to bring people down for a meet n greet. So he said he'd walk us back upstairs and bring those people down. I asked if we could snap a couple photos yet and he said 'of course!' He even took them for us!
5:20pm: So we left, thanked Jason for everything and walked back upstairs with Chris.
People had really started showing up so we went around with flyers and making sure everyone knew Jason would do a meet n greet after and that he'll sign autographs. Everyone was really excited and we kept trying to grab new people that were just passing by.
6:10ish? Jason comes up to start the show! Honestly, I don't remember the order or what songs he sang. I was mesmerized as always! I was going to walk around or just stand on the side but the sound wasn't very good on the side. Liz and her family were sitting in the front row and Steph was sitting in front of them on the floor so I wiggled my way through people and snuck up to the front with them. Sat next to Steph right in front of Jason! He saw me come up there and just smiled :-) So he sang, wonderfully! Just his normal self! Had to do SOTR on guitar because of the uke issues. It was different...still great of course!
6:40? Jason was done and told everyone to come for a meet n greet. So SBB and I got our Street Teamin shoes on and headed for the line! We got a fantastic response from people wanting to sign up for the mailing list! People were so excited to meet Jason!! We had 5 of us with clipboards and got through the whole line really fast! Street teamers stayed at the end and got a group pic with Jason before he left at about 7:25 or so.
