ATLANTA/DISCOVER MILLS RECAP: BIG THANKS again to Melinda, Sacha, Colleen, Lynne, and Tammy for all their help at the Discover Mills Mall event! It was really nice meeting all of them in person and they really rocked those mailing lists - especially Lynne! Georgia Teamers that particpated also did a great job: Brenda (bennie2), Kennedy (ahhkennedy), Rebecca (PRNC5), and Christine (parisgirl). I think all-in-all, the event was a success, despite the somewhat uncooperative management there at the mall, the bad weather, the heavy traffic, the 3 homecoming games scheduled for the same time, and a few other things that tried to get in the way. It was also a big help having a few other fans on the day of the show act as Street Team "Assistants". Thanks again to: Jean (roy33), Joy (Bundle of Joy), and Josee (from Canada) for watching everyone's stuff, helping with the fliers and bookmarks, and answering questions for passersby. We couldn't have done it without them. We heard many, many positive comments from the crowd about Jason's merchandise that was for sale, especially that gorgeous new 2010 calendar! I bought one for myself and Jason wrote Happy Birthday Yolanda over my birthday, which really makes me look forward to next August! One of our youngest Georgia teamers, Kennedy, (20) had never met Jason, so we were all thrilled for her when she won the X-Box Akoo was giving away and got some face time with Jason. Kudos also to Brenda (bennie2), who ran into a guy from one of the local newspapers whose blog she follows and apparently got some good comments out of him about the show for his blog the next day. The crowd in the food court was decent (approx. 300+) and loved Jason's performance. We had a lot of CD pre-orders, merchandise sales and signups for the mailing list. There were also positive comments from the crowd about Jason's music video playing on the Akoo screens in the food court. Unfortunately, time ran short and the team picture was very rushed, so a few teamers were inadvertently missed. Hopefully, there will be other opportunities in the future. However, when I get a copy of the team pic, I will post it here. Jason's performance was AWESOME! He sang 4 of his new songs and SOTR and Hallelujah. Of course, the highlight of my day was going backstage with Melinda before the show and chatting with Jason and Betsy a few minutes. No surprise: Jason was warm, charming and gracious, as usual! ...and needless to say - he was his ever beautiful self!! ;D ;D After it was all over, I was exhilarated, but exhausted so it was off to magaritaville and bed for me!
