Dear God,
Thank you for putting an end to Adam's suffering. Even though this wonderful young man will be missed greatly and is gone too soon, I am thankful that the hell that Adam was living in every day is over.
I lift up to you Adam's wife and children. Please surround them with Your love and care at this time. Help them to hold onto all the wonderful memories they have of their beloved husband and father, and let them give them comfort during their darkest times.
I pray for David, Andrew, Stan Cook, and Adam's mother, all of whom have lost a precious brother and son. I pray that you will also surround them with your love and care, and I pray that You will give them comfort during this difficult time. I thank You for all the work that David has done, compelled by Adam's illness, to bring more awareness and funding for the eradication of this terrible disease.
I pray for the friends of the Cooks, who I am sure knew and loved Adam as well, who will struggle to come to terms with their own grief and who will need Your loving hand to give them the comfort they need.
Finally I pray for all of us who are fans of David Cook, who feel as if we knew Adam, in a sense, and who know and love David and struggle to offer our support to him. I pray that you will help us all find comfort and find ways to give our support to this wonderful young man that we have all grown to know and love.
We don't know Your ways, Lord, but we know that You are a loving God who has a plan for all of us. I thank You for being that guiding force in all of our lives.
In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.
