Review: Idols concert throws back to Season 7, displays growth of top 10 finalists
Memorable moments came with Brooke White’s “Let it Be,” and Jason Castro’s “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” with ukulele in hand.
As Castro started in on a new song for the audience – Ray Lamontagne’s version of Gnarles Barkley’s hit “Crazy” – his guitar wasn’t fully plugged in. Castro continued to sing, never missing a chord on his guitar, until the error was corrected.
The concert was the 40th stop on the Idols tour, and Castro’s composure was indicative of the growth each performer has gained since the show’s end. Castro did just as his famous TV judges would have advised and “never stopped playing.”
