Kansas City ~ Saturday 8/30/08
Pics are kinda squished again, they look normal on my photobucket, feel free to save any y'all want, photobucket link at the end of the story.
WOOOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOO! DREADHEADS ROCK! YEAH!
JASON CASTRO IS BEAUTIFUL, SWEET, KIND, FUNNY AND JUST SO AWESOME!! (seriously, I LOVE him!)
I see now why some of you, who have the opportunity, go to as many tour stops you can! Seriously I thought y'all were a LITTLE CRAZY! LOL! But NOW I GET IT!
Although he takes time with each and every fan, its only a short little minute or so and you dont have time to think except GET THE PICTURE or GET THE HUG! And then its over and kind of a blur and then youre like I should of done this or said that. But it is amazing to see him in person even if for a short little minute! (but it does leave you wanting more!)
I'm soooo wore out, seems like the longest day of my life! I am going to post basically about my 2 daughters experience since thats what Sat was mostly about for me.
My oldest watched idol but wasnt a "fan" of anyone she liked DC, DA, MJ and Jason. She liked DA the best, but likes and knows all Jasons songs and sings along when they are playing.
Now my little one SHE IS A TRUE DREADHEAD! I found her one day clicking on Jasons pic on the computer trying to get Halelujah to play (thats her favorite song)
She asks all her friends if they watched idol, who did they like, and procedes to tell them all about Jason Castro and then tells me to put his music on so they can hear it! LOL! And if they dare not pay attention or walk away...well lets just say shes not happy with them! LOL! She wants Jason to wait for her to grow up so they can get married. (dont tell her I told you that! LOL)
I had such a great experience meeting Jason on Fri afternoon, told my 6 yr old daughter I met him and got pics and a hug and she was sooooooooooooo excited to go Sat. She drew him a picture (that said Jason Castro rocks with a little Jason, and on the back it said Jason Castro WOW!!!) then ran around the house looking for gifts to give him! It was hilarious!
She finally settled on a seashell and a rock that had an F written on it with a marker which she thought was totally cool LOL! We added the bracelettes we got him to his pile of goodies and she put them in a hello kitty brown paper lunch sack. Heres the bracelettes, didnt get a pic of the gift bag, and the rest of the gifts! *slaps self in head*
Got the girls up and my little one got up excited, I told her there was a chance we wouldnt see Jason that some people dont get to see him at all (preparing for the worst!)
My teenager laid there forever and finally got up, not very excited or even looking forward to going (took a quick shower and threw her hair up and did some make up)
We dont have any Jason T's but did all wear light blus shirts. My teenager threw on some shorts that she wears to cheer practice and I said why dont you wear your jean shorts? She said they werent comfortable for all day. OK, whatever.
We got to the Sprint center at 11am and settled in with the BEAUTIFUL DREADHEADS, YOU GUYS ROCK! Had our peace sign necklaces that LvnJsn sent to us when she couldnt come (grfgrl4ever brought them), THANK YOU LvnJsn! And SherryJ58 had cute nametags and FLAT JASONS on a stick for us to use! Those were so cute, and a BIG hit! THANK YOU SherryJ58!
Surprisingly the little one did really well, we had lots of snacks and frozen water bottles and there was another little Dreadhead there so they played together. My teenager texted all day and was mostly BORED And HOT! (it WAS sooo hot!)
She did have some friends tell her she was lucky, that they had wanted to go. When she realized we werent going home before the concert she was bummed (I had TOLD her we would be there ALL day and it would be a LONG DAY)
Ice cream man came by and they had ice creams. Woo Hoo for an ice cream intervention!
After what seemed like 12 hours (our boom box quit working! seriously the boom box with Jason tunes makes the waiting fly by!) and a few when are they coming questions, the buses started coming!
I gave the little one flat Jason and told her to wave him at the buses, she was so cute and excited, and all smiles! (Then I started to get nervous again) I was hoping with all hope that Jason would come out.
We had a little chair parked right up to the barricade and she stood in it and could see everything.
More waiting, finally the idols started coming out! She was so excited! She had been wringing her little hands on her gift bag ALL DAY, and it was getting kind of crumpled up and feeling like it would break open. She was waiting for Jason and you could see the SQUEEEEE on her face! LOL!
Excitement in the air now! I put the girls up against the barricade and stood behind them so I could get pics of them with the idols. We had borrowed my daughters friends camera but it had only 7 pictures left and was almost dead.
Kristy came out and they got her autogrhaph. She was first and took the most time. I was trying to get my girls pics as they were getting autographs signed between them, but the camera wouldnt work! Thank God for the Dreadheads! Grfgrl4ever jumped in and took some pics cuz I couldnt! THANK YOU!
Archie came out, my teenager started PERKING UP then! LOL!
They got his autograph, but the gaurd said Archie couldnt pose with people. My oldest said Archie was so HOT in person and if she had known she was going to meet him she would of done her hair! LOL! (and probally worn nicer shorts)
My daughter had her camera (with the broken screen) and was getting pics as the idols came and went. She wouldnt give up her camera so I'm on her like white on rice to take all the pics she can get while the idols are in sight!
DC came out and started at the other end and spent FOREVER down there with his COOKIES.
My little one kept asking where Jason was, I told her he might not come out today and if he didnt he MIGHT be out later tonight but there was a chance we wouldnt get to see him (I was really hoping he would come out, I didnt want to drag her around the crazy night autograph session)
.
Brooke came out and they got her autograph.I didnt think to say look up and smile, as any of them were signing autographs (still smacking myself, I should of asked) but I knew they were in a hurry and felt lucky just to have them stop and sign for us.
By the time DC got down to us he was getting rushed.
Dang it! didnt get the girls in the pic! But hes signing their papers here
The security gaurds said no one else was coming out! My oldest was happy to of met some of the idols but my little one was HEART BROKEN!
She teared up and started crying. I told her we would come after the concert but I didnt know if Jason would be out, we'd have to see, but we would sure come and try! So there she stood crumpled up gift bag in hand, eyes full of tears hugging my legs.
What an afternoon! No Jason! No boom box of Jasons music to sooth our souls. Which made our hot, sweaty, sunburned, thirsty, tired, achy, bodies feel that much worse. Although it was nice to see who we did, no Jason made it seem less fun (at the time) than it actually was
Well, thats the first part! That took me 4 ever to post! LOL But it does get better from here!!!!
