Welcome to the newly-revamped Street Team section of Jason's official forum. We wanted to make it easier for those who prefer getting information here to getting it from MySpace. We've also set up meeting rooms for each US region, with sections for you to get to know and strategize with your State Team leader. Check it out! If forums aren't your thing, we'll still be posting everything you need here and on each US Regional MySpace page. Speaking of MySpace, we're excited to announce the new HQ Espanol page! Thanks to C A S T R O M A N I A C for all her work in putting it together! She'll be providing info to Jason's US Spanish-speaking fans, so pay her a visit at: www.myspace.com/jcsthqespanolAnd if all THAT wasn't enough street-teamy goodness for one day, we're also pleased to announce the Official Jason Castro Street Team group of Facebook. Search "Groups" for Jason Castro Street Team HQ and join us!

Hey, street teamers! We wanted to take a moment to clear up a couple of concerns that have been brought up, and we'd like to address them here. Street Team Leaders very often receive requests for promotional information for some things that Jason is involved in which don't necessarily fall under the umbrella of the street team. We thought it would be helpful to provide a couple 'rules of thumb' that we hope will clarify some of your questions as we get closer to full blown, all-out promotions for Jason's CD release and any supporting tour dates. The street team's mission is to promote Jason as a serious artist; to make current fans aware of upcoming concert appearances, new music, or broadcast musical performances; and to expand his existing fan base by introducing and promoting his music to those who may not have heard it yet. Not everything that Jason does will be suitable for street team promotions. Some examples of this are: the Season 8 American Idol episode featuring Michael Castro's audition (in which Jason was briefly shown talking to Ryan and Michael), Jason's performance at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in January, and the March 14th Idol Extra taping. Each of these events were announced on the front page of Jason's site and were covered on the independent Jason Castro fan sites, as well as on general AI sites like MJ's Big Blog, but fell outside the scope of the street team because: - Jason's music was not featured on the episode of American Idol in which Michael Castro's audition was shown.
- Jason's performance at the premiere of Amar a Morir was at the invitation of the film's producers, and he appeared to support them, not to showcase himself. (But you better believe we'll be street teaming the soundtrack release.)
- Entrance to the Idol Extra taping was extremely limited; people were turned away at the studio door due to the small number of audience members that the show allows, and widespread promotions of the taping would not have served Jason's fans well. Even if that were not the case, American Idol Extra didn't release the date for publication until a couple days before the taping (MJs Big Blog didn't publish the information until Friday, March 13th. It was up on Jason's front page Thursday morning.)
Again, you can be sure that we will be promoting the episode in which Jason will be featured as soon as a broadcast date is confirmed. (By the way - there are rumors floating around that Jason's performance will be broadcast on his birthday, March 25th. This is not accurate information; the show doesn't even premiere until Thursday, March 26th - you may need to scroll down to see the premiere date - and details of individual episodes have not been released yet.)
All confirmed event information and news that has been cleared for release will be posted on Jason's front page. The street team will pick up events that will be street teamed using this basic modus operandi: - If Jason is releasing music, it will be street teamed.
- If Jason is performing publicly and it is appropriate to promote the performance to increase visibility for the event, that will be street teamed.
- There may be other events that come up that we will be asked to promote, and we'll pass those along to you as they occur.
- Information for all street team events will be provided by Street Team Leaders; however, if you are ever unsure if something is or isn't slated for promotions by the street team, please ask.
If anyone has further questions, we welcome them in the Street Team Chatter thread. You can also contact your State or Regional Leaders for anything at all. They're here to help and anxious to get to know you, so don't be shy! Lastly, we just wanted to say that we're very grateful for the support we've received from so many of the street team members, and for your patience while we all wait in between promotional opportunities. We've enjoyed working with you all, and look forward to bigger and better things ahead. Thank you for everything
