Hey girls!!! gimme the details on this january disney opening thing!! Details..details...pleazzze!!! Count me IN!!! You girls are awesome! I am so happy to have met all of you dreadheads! jason has the coolest fans! i left a message over at our other ddb board for all of you, but i guess everyone will b coming over here now, right? Details are few and far between right now. We know it's January, but I don't think that Disney has released the actual date yet. We know the attraction will be located in Disney Studios. Like I said, not a whole lot of details, but I agree that we should stay in this thread for the planning, at least initially.

Hey - Well i did figured out how to start a new thread - so we have one for the January Disney. I thought it would be nice to have a thread with that title so others could find it as well. cafe.jasoncastromusic.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=jatour&thread=343&page=1#3168But this Tampa thread is a great place for us to visit and chat. I'll post this info. back on DDB and elsewhere on this site. I don't have anything to say about the Disney thing yet but maybe others will and if I find any info. I'll post.

I hope we do too. Hopefully when it gets a little closer we can get some more details from Jason and his family, as well as from Disney.

I wrote this recap for our Tampa tour thread over at Castrocopia. It was my third show of the week (I had also been to Charlotte and Atlanta) --
I got to the venue for the pre-show stalking at noon. There were already a fair amount of people there, but not so many that I couldn't get a spot right on the barricade. I took a spot near one end, under the overhang.....which turned out to be the best spot when the rain started. It really didn't rain very hard, or for very long, though. It was really sunny, then it suddenly rained, then it suddenly got sunny again. Lather, rinse, repeat. People were very concerned about their gifts and signs getting wet. Luckily, I did not have that problem! It was really windy, though, which meant that my signs kept blowing around. At one point during the signing, my posters actually blew over the barricades and I had to get a security guy to fetch them for me. If I had any sense, I would've left them there and asked Jason to pick them up for me; that would've given me a shot of him with the "I *heart* Flat Jason" sign. I just thought of that! Duh.
<snip>
Jason came out then. I was hoping he would start at my end, since his trend seems to be to start at the end and work his way back, but he didn't do that. Which means it took for freaking ever for him to get to me, since he takes so much time with his fans. Not that I'm complaining; it's just that I was so antsy about the Flat Jason hand-off! People were loading him down with presents. One girl (actually, the one who wanted her picture made with FJ) gave him this really funny Mickey Mouse doll that had realistic-looking brown dreads on it -- she even put the beads in the hair! [Turns out that was our very own lovely Miss Meliss!] Jason really seemed to like that. He was kind of mugging with it for their cameras, waving his (Mickey's) little arms around, etc. That kid cracks me up.
Here's what happened with the Flat Jason hand-off: I cannot tell you what an exciting moment it was, to hand off FJ to Real Jason. I was all nervous and rehearsing in my head, because I wanted to get the entire point across without monopolizing his time. (I know I would hate it if I were waiting to see Jason and some lady was yakking it up with a cardboard head on a stick.) So, he finally gets in front of me and I say, "Jason, I don't know if you remember Flat Jason from Charlotte?" His response: [furrowed brow] "Wait...whut?" So I said that Flat Jason had been in DC, Charlotte, Atlanta and now Tampa, and that the ladies of Castrocopia [snerk - "ladies"] wanted Jason to have him. He was holding FJ during this and said, "Oh, cool! I'll have to take some pictures with him!" I managed to avoid squeeing, and said, "Yeah, we were thinking maybe the tour bus or something, if you could please?" He said -- ready ladies? -- "Yeah, definitely!" SQUEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
I did not get a picture of Jason with the "I *heart* Flat Jason" sign because I wanted to get a picture of the two of us together, and I didn't feel that I should take up any more of his time. The main goal was accomplished, though! Plus, I got two more pictures of Jason holding Flat Jason -- they're really good, too!
And by the way? Greenie? I called him over as he was leaving and told him my friend had given him a neck pillow and had he gotten it. His eyes absolutely lit up with recognition, and he said, "Oh! Yeahhh!" and gave a big grin. That man is so freaking cool.
The show itself was pretty good. I zoned out during a lot of it because, having seen it twice already, I kinda didn't care anymore. We were in maybe the fourth section away from the stage, on the left side, about 4 rows up from the floor. Not great seats, but not bad. Well, I get a text from Faith toward the end of the first half, telling me that the three seats next to her were empty. Ladies, she was in the FIRST section to the right of the stage, TWO rows up from the floor. Directly parallel to the catwalk, about 20 feet away. Squeeee!!!! So the three of us hightailed it over there during intermission, praying that the usher wouldn't ask to see our tickets. We managed to scoot through in the confusion of everyone leaving to go to the lobby, so we had no trouble getting to the seats. They were AWESOME!!! I swear we were like 20 feet from Jason!
He was, of course, marvelous. I teared up when he started OTR, and continued to cry through his entire [farklebumming] set. I guess I was crying because it hit me that this is the last time I'll get to see him until that future solo tour, probably a couple years away. Greenie knows what I'm talking about. I was also crying because we are getting to see him at the genesis of his career, and I was thinking about all the good things I want for him. I'm tearing up again as I write that. So, yeah, SWL's a big crybaby. Bite me.
I was a little disappointed in PDSTM, just because there was very little dorkiness from Jason. Tonight's Mavid dance consisted of one of them holding this piece of cardboard with a line down the middle. On one side was an "M" and on the other was a "D." MJ held it while Cook karate chopped it, then they switched off. It was really random and odd. Jason was laughing at that, but I kind of get the impression that he laughs at everything.
There was no after-show stalking. Someone at the pre-show stalking asked Jason about it, and he said they wouldn't be coming out because they had to catch a flight to Houston immediately after the show. I saw that someone posted that Sy said the same thing. Nice to know that Jason's not a big fat liar.
I forgot one minor but kind of interesting Jason detail from Tampa: When he was standing at the barricade taking a picture with the lady next to me, his forearm was resting on the top of the fence, so I of course stared at it. He actually does have hair on it [he always looks so smooth that I honestly wasn't sure], but it's REALLY light -- a brownish-blonde. It was darker down toward his wrist, and got lighter as it moved up the arm. I also just so "happened" to rest my arm on the barricade next to his, so my arm just so "happened" to be touching his. His skin was so warm and soft.
God help me, I'm a total fantard. I must be stopped.

Hi SWL:
I meant to come over and say hello to you on the barricade line in Tampa. I recognized you from what you had written over on Catrocopia the day before the concert (yellow shirt, Kristy sign, Syesha gift). I never made it over to you, but I enjoyed myself tremendously watching you talk to Sy.
Just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your post-tour recap over in the ladies thread at Castrocopia. Maybe we'll meet another time . . .

Hi gang, glad to see you all, samecage, diane, liss. Sure was great at the Tampa show and really enjoyed the time spent with you guys. SWL that was a cool recap of the event. I think like most of you, the main event was seeing Jason before hand. And I agree, we were on the wrong side and had to wait for a loooooooooong time to talk to him. My boss, Gina, as a lot of you know, was doing the screaming for us. Boy was she!!!! Anyhow, you'd have thought I was a teeny bopper cause I got all choked up and shy when he finally got around to us. #thdoh-1# #thnerves# I handed him the "Sandy Seashell Margarita" and he could read the story behind it and the card later. I just said that it was a bit of Florida beaches for him from all of us. Then I just stood there looking at him.... like a school girl (not like a gramma)! Gina took a couple pics of us together and it turned out pretty cool cause it shows his autograph too. By the way, I wrote to Disney to find out all the particulars on that and got an acknowledgement from them, today actually. Will continue to wait for an answer from them. It'll be great seeing you all again and a lot of fun. But the best part will be seeing Jason again. I posted to Betsy and asked if Jason had read the story or looked at the pics about the margarita, and she said she wasn't sure but thought he probably did. She was going to check with him to see if he did. Hope so. Anyhow, I'll post a couple pics here from the concert (if they come out right). Love you all and anxious to get with you again. Bon #blowingkiss# ' I was in the nose bleed section so I could only zoom in so far. Actually we were in the seats on the top row. Coulda touched the roof!!!! Which sucked but I was still syked that I got to see him and hear him!!! #omg# ttyl & love ya's #thSENDIN1#

Another high point of my day . . . watching Kristy Lee come back out with your small payoff gift in appreciation for your lovely sign! That cracked me up! I assumed she had forgotten about me, so when she came trotting back out with the hat I was surprised. She handed it to me and said, "Here, I autographed it for you!" I thanked her and she told me to be sure to hold the sign up real high during her set. I assured her I would, but in reality I took her set as an opportunity to go get beer. Here's a picture of the hat: And just to keep it on topic, here's my favorite picture I took (besides the one of him and me together) : Edit: lonedove, I remember seeing that margarita and wondering what that was all about! Cool!
