I'm so glad everyone got to meet Jason. I'm SO disappointed that I did not. I had my 10 year old daughter with me from 2:00 on trying to get some coverage for B98.5 radio, so by the time the concert ended she was exhausted and I had to get her home so she could get up for school this morning. However, Steve and Vikki called me this morning and interviewed me live on the Dreadheads and Jason. They promised to bring me in the studio with Jason when he comes back to ATL. If you want to see their blurb about it and my interview, the link is below. (Although I'm having trouble getting the interview to play).
b985.com/steveandvikki/todayontheshow.htmlSo even though I didn't get to meet Jason, my main objective was accomplished.... I got to promote him on the air. And as far as the concert review, for me, it was a one man show.

OMG!! Got to meet Jason and got a picture with him. So did my daughter. And got his autograph and squiggly dreadhead on my poster!
All the girls came out, then Archie, then Jason. MJ, Cookie and Chikeze didn't come out. Someone said Cookie was not feeling well and MJ had a private meeting with some of his ATL friends (he lived here for 10 yrs before moving to LA.) Not sure why Chikeze didn't get out.
Everyone else was just signing autographs - no photos with fans. Jason was the only Idol who took time to pose for pictures with his fans! It was a madhouse, but perseverance paid off!!
I've spent 12 hours at the venue, with an hour drive before and after - so I'm beat. But we had a great day. About 35 deadheads total for the BBQ. It was great to meet everyone and put faces to names. And Jason was AWESOME!! I can't wait 'til he's touring on his own!!
I'll get my daughter to upload pictures maybe tomorrow. What a great day!! Will be smiling for weeks to come. And Wednesday is my birthday! What a great present!!
So curious minds wanna know..... What did you barbeque?

WOW this is going to be one fantastic thread to keep coming back and checking for updates! Love them all already and so many of you haven't even checked in yet. I'm thinking this might have to have it's own photo folder (on my harddrive) for the Georgia Peaches!

I had a great time, but in true Dreadhead spirit, I was so busy trying to make sure the people behind me got their stuff signed and that the cute little girl with the dreads that was CRYING hysterically the second Jason came out the door got up front to meet him(he signed her arm!!), that I didn't get my stuff signed or one picture worth having
It's a shame they have to be so rushed, I know Jason wouldn't have let me get bypassed intentionally! There was an awful lot of pushing and shoving going on over Jason and Archie, but it wasn't by the Dreadheads of course!! Hopefully that will not be my only chance to meet him!!!! Sometimes I wish I wasn't so nice, LOL! Well, not really!!
Thanks to all the JSB's who made such a great day even better! I enjoyed meeting you all!
Love to you all!!

One a pic Joy (slimer) in Singapore had photoshopped for Jason to sign ...funny thing it was the pic from Sacto where he's wearing the same shirt...annd he commented that! another was a pic MissWhitty had of Jaso & Michael together that Misswhitty had already gotten signed by Michael...I handed it to him and he's like HEY my brother already signed this...how'd that happen hahahahahha. I'm telling you ladies the young man is an absolute GEM. He has my heart for life!!!!!!!!!! huggin an ol lady that's been sweating in the Georgia heat for 12 hours UGH...I was sooo uncomfortable and he was soooo gracious! Oh to be 20 and HOT again!!!!!!!!! To add insult to injury now i'm finding pics EVERYWHERE of sweaty momma kali holding a dreadhead on a stick that Jason signed and KISSED! BWah a cookie got a pic of the kiss and is supposed to be e-mailing it to me cross yer fingers!

LOL, RoseQ, they didn't bbq on the spot. And bbq is a style of southern cooking not one specific thang. It was all catered so there wasnn't any hickory chips or propane onsite. LOL. But we had yummy chicken, pulled pork sandwich, with bbq beans and potato salad. Vegetarians had other options like lots of brownies, pies by Moochie Mama, and other incredible munchies by Jason's Southern Belles.
My Southern sistahs, correct me if I am wrong on the meaning of southern bbq, but I think I got it right.

Rosequeen, we had barbequed pork chopped up for sandwiches, barbequed chicken, beans and potato salad, all catered by a local BBQ restaurant. And brownies and apple pies. And we had a lot of barbequed Southern Belles after standing in the hot sun for hours waiting before the show for the glimpse we got of Jason filming the LKL segment.

I had so much fun meeting everyone last night! Princess,(aka, Rebecca), you did a great job as team captain. Thanks too for helping me with my feeble attempts to get back to the idols. That mean ol security woman, aka "Barracuda" needs to spend more time listening to Jason's music; it might make her nicer. Anyway, I feel like I have a whole new group of friends. It was alot of fun.
OH! And Rebecca, I got your messages this mng. My cell completely died!

You guys rock!! Thanks for sharing the pics and ur stories with us. It looked like he was wearing the shirt that he wore to my concert , last night. The first time I have seen it since.
I loved all of ur signs and esp. dreadheads on a stick.
it truly warms my heart, to be part of such a special fanbase, (unlike hansons) where everybody gets along and everyone trys to make sure each dreadhead has a special time!!
another cute idea about giftbags for EVERY other idol, even if it has our beauitiful dreadhead logo on it! (awesome idea. glad the other idols liked them and acknowledged Jasons fan base!)
Congrats fellow busmate PRNC! So awesome u got to meet Jason!!

WARNING: This is a LONG post! It’s 5 and a half pages in Word!
Tiger’s Concert Experience
10:00 AM- I arrived to find about 8-10 dreadheads and tag-a-longs setting up. Some were blowing up balloons, others making signs and banners, still others coordinating tent set up. Kali is finishing up the 3D dreadhead on a stick that has beautiful dreads on it. It was an organized affair to be sure! I got my tent pitched and hung a couple of banners, then got the music going from my mp3 player.
A couple of Cookies and Archies walk past. Most are nice, some seem rattled that there are so many of us, that we are so organized, and perhaps that we are not teenagers.
11:00 AM- more people arrive or re-arrive. Several of us take a walk to the back of the arena to see if the buses have arrived and where they might park if they have not. No buses, everything is locked up tight, so we head back to camp.
11:50 AM- we get word that the venue people are setting up barricade fences near a side entrance of the arena, so we start heading that way, piecemeal. I make about three trips before I have everything that I THINK I need: chair, gifts, camera, water, etc. Too bad I didn’t not put sun block on that list of priority items—I got baked!
12:30 PM- sitting, waiting, organizing. We get people placed, practice who will hold up which signs and where. More dreadheads arrive, as do more other fans. A good number of Cookies and Archies, a few Michael Johns fans, a couple of Carly fans. There was a girl wearing teal, which is Syesha’s tour color, I guess; so her fan came out too.
1:00 PM-baking. We feel like they must be getting close when the guitar hero equipment bus rolls through, followed by a satellite truck which we figured was for press purposes.
Bundle of Joy arrives and makes all of us crazy psycho people look downright sedate with how excited she is. She has already lost her voice from yelling, and she has these awesome foam dreadheads on a stick that can be taken off the stick and used as hand puppets in the show. Others arrive who we think were Castrocopia? Not sure.
2:00 PM- venue staff, who have been staring at us like we’re all crazy through various windows of the building, start coming out. We cheer them, offer brownies in hopes of wooing them into telling us where Jason is.
We are told by venue staff that the Idols will almost certainly be out by 3 PM. Up until this time, when we asked if they were in the building, we got an answer of “No.” Now when we asked, we get, “I’m not sure,” so we feel like they arrived around this time or a little before.
2:45 PM- a guy who I later learn is the tour director or producer or something comes out to say in a very “I’m acting like I’m sorry but I really don’t care” voice that the Idols are in no way shape or form going to be coming out at all for a pre-show meet and greet. He explains that Larry King Dead will be conducting an interview with them via satellite and that it will take up the entire 3 o’clock hour which is normally reserved for fan time. He says that we are welcome to stand around even longer in the baking sun, that he is not trying to disperse us, but that they ain’t coming out.
The crowd, as you might imagine, is displeased to say the least. No one is angry or upset at the Idols or even at the venue staff, but everyone is enraged at the event staff who had to know that this was going on well before 2:45 PM. And poor Larry King Dead wouldn’t have survived 5 minutes before that crowd would have torn him from limb to limb. Rhetorical questions were raised: why another LKL interview? Why here? Why all of them and not just Cook? What right did LK have to take this time? Who does he think he is? Why does he get to interview them when he can’t formulate a decent question, much less pronounce half of their names? Who the h*11 watches Larry King anyway? Old people? Why would old people care about Idol? And so on.
2:50 PM- Kali mentions quietly to a few people that you can see through the huge glass doors the place on the second floor balcony where the interview will take place. We move around and find space on the wall. We think they will line everyone up on some stools set up against the balcony railing, so we’d at least get to see some dreads from the back, but either the light was too bad or they were afraid of getting a glimpse of the impromptu “I hate Larry King” signs (there were none of these, but only because no one had a blank poster board handy.)
3:00 PM- we see Michael Johns come out to the balcony! Then Kristy Lee and Carly! THEN JASON! I have no idea who else was there after that, because my heart stopped. Up until THAT moment, I think I must have thought he was a figment of my imagination, like some kind of made-for-TV hologram that wasn’t real. But there he was!! He was in blue jeans and his peachy-pink peasant shirt, his dreads were down, and he was grinning from ear to ear and waving down at us!! I tried to get a picture, but being excited plus having to hold up a piece of paper to block the reflected light from the glass AND snapping a picture while he was briefly there did not work.
The idols go back to the area near the back wall, out of our sight at ground level.
3:15 PM- a cute venue staffer is assigned to collect gifts and take them to the Idols, so we load him up with stuff. Because I have eaten neither breakfast or lunch, I keep the rainbow twizzlers and lemon heads I’d gotten for Jason (I secretly wanted them anyway, and I heard he didn’t care too much for sweets, so I didn’t think he’d mind, LOL!)
4:00 PM- We’re still in place, thinking when is this stupid interview going to end? At times women with the production crew step away from the back wall and various people scream that they think that was Carly, Kristy, etc—but it wasn’t. Some people either with the production crew or the venue staff are so amused at these 150 or so morons who are standing at a glass wall in hopes of seeing an Idol for 26 seconds that they snap pictures of us. I and others resist the urge to flip them off.
The interview finally ends and Jason goes back the way he came (we’d worried they were going out a different way at first). Again the smile, the eyes, the wave, the pantzzz… then he was gone. David C, ever the ham, stays around an extra 30 seconds or so to ape for the group.
We turn around to head back to our area, as the barbeque is expected at 4PM. Sure enough the catering trucks rolls up, so we get stuff set up. A few people who had just strolled up at 3:30 stare at us and wonder aloud if this is an idol birthday party or something. There are now three tents, about 20 chairs, about 40 people, and a dozen balloons, plus Jason music. I suppose it could have been mistaken for a kid’s birthday party if there were any kids with us. But no kids, except for us teenyboppers and tweeners that are Jason fans!
####################Title: Re: 18 AUG~~~ Atlanta
Post by: TigerSooner4Aggie on August 19, 2008, 11:01:46 AM
5:00 PM- the barbeque is finished and those staying at the hotel start heading back to shower and change for the concert. About 8 of us who are local or non-stayovers stick around to chat, snack, and clean up a little. We discuss Jason’s recording of Hallelujah, whether we think he’s got a recording contract or solid contacts, and Mandy, though some people did not want to talk about Mandy, LOL! The general consensus was: we think he MAY have recorded the complete version of Hallelujah; he may have a contract, but may not only because he feels he can do it independently; and Mandy is nice and we want him ultimately to be happy.
6:00 PM- we pack up the last of the tents and chairs that are ours and move the tables together so that when Rebecca returns from the hotel it will all be together. We start making our way piecemeal into the arena.
6:40 PM- I find my seat, which is in what I called The God Spot. That’s a seat directly centered on the stage. Unfortunately, it is a ways from the stage—probably about 250 feet. (For that reason, few of my pictures came out well. I just hope my videos are okay. I didn’t take any pictures of Jason, only videos: I figure someone who sat closer than I did got some nice photos.)
6:50 PM- the arena is still only half full. I speculate with people in front of me whether it is actually sold out or not.
7:00 PM- the show starts, and the dreadhead who was supposed to be sitting by me does not show up, so I have room to the left of me. Unfortunately, the people in the row in front of me appear to be fans of everyone, especially Michael Johns. The people behind me have brought a piercing whistle in the form of a child, so I fear that my Jason videos may be hard to hear.
The poptarts junk ends, and Chikezie does his set. He was really good, seems to be a natural even in that huge crowd. I enjoy it, though not as much as the people around me, I think. They were screaming their lungs out, but I was saving up.
Ramiele comes out, and her hair looks (sorry to say it) pretty awful. It is black on top and orange-y red orange on bottom, pulled back except for these two wing-shaped bits on the side. It looked like a Roman gladiator helmet made of hair. Her moves were great though. Voice? Better than I expected, but not great. The crowd goes wild for the first song, but then she tolls the death knell by saying that she’s going to “slow it down a little.” She goes into a LONG song that I try to tune out about halfway through. The little girl behind me says about ¾ the way through when she hits a really loud, long note, “I didn’t know she was still singing!” I felt the same way.
Michael is next, and he does a great job. Really got the crowd into it. I liked all his songs, as did the people around me. He wardrobe throws me off, though. He seems to be wearing jeans and a short-sleeve grey t-shirt with a scarf. It’s like he put on the jeans and shirt and decided, “this isn’t fancy enough. It needs an accessory, something that says, ‘I rock.’ I know: a scarf!” It’s as though half the guys on AI were searching high and low for an accessory and decided that they couldn’t live without one. Even Jason did it once!
Next was Kristy Lee, whose set I could have skipped. Like Ramiele, she was a loud one. I started to theorize that maybe it was female voices in concert that I didn’t like—too high or too loud or something? I agree with all the others who’ve posted that they feel her American song to be a little pander-y. Though a Dread husband from our group who is in the Army told KLC after the show that he appreciated it.
Next, Carly went, and I enjoyed her set a little more, though the loud parts were too loud (I feel so old!) Her Evananescence song was good; the others were pretty good too.
Then it was Brooke’s turn and I REALLY enjoyed her set. I realized that the reason I didn’t like the other girls wasn’t because they were female and their voices were higher, but because they scream sang into the mike like they were trying to drown out the ocean or something.
Group song—whatever.
Intermission—more promo stuff. I found a better seat next to a dreadhead about 15 rows lower/closer to the stage. So now I was only about 220 feet back
I look at her program, and it is great! I only read Jason’s though. I had hoped that picture in the white suit had been a full page one, but no luck
They show the Guitar Hero commercial and Jason is LOVELY as always. Those arms! More on that later.
They give away more junk and I am on the edge of my seat waiting for Jason to come out.

JASON. He was awesome and amazing and beautiful and wonderful. His dreads were half pulled back and I think he wore tan/off white—probably what he always wears. I think the red shoes were a no-show. I recall someone saying he’d not been wearing those. Anyone know why?
Everyone talked between songs and I didn’t really understand anyone except him. He was fantastic. Just gorgeous inside and out. Superb and marvelous. I admit I teared up a little at Rainbow—it is a special song for me.
The crowd seemed to really love him, and he sounded like he was having a good time. He seemed so personable. I videoed the whole set from start to finish.
He was gone too soon, and Syesha came out. Her songs all sounded like the original artists, except the slow one, which I may have dozed off during b/c I can’t remember what it was. She looked pretty and sounded good, but I honestly don’t see her as anything special or different from lots of other established artists out there. At the end of her set, the crowd cheered a pretty god bit for her, and she introduced David A by saying something like, “The show isn’t over yet… there are a couple of more performers to come. This next guy is just great—David Archuleta!” I almost laughed aloud at her—“yes, I know I was awesome and you all thought that was the finale because who could top that? But there’s more…”
When David comes out the decibel level jumps tenfold.
David A does a good job. He has a nice voice, and I had the thought that he actually looked his age for the first time to me—before he’s always looked about 14. But I was ready to come up and grab the mike from him after the 18th “Ha!” Srsly, dude, you need to work on that.
David C. did a great job, I really enjoyed his stuff. I thought he might sing something new, but I seem to recall all his songs from the show. I’d have actually preferred that of Jason too, but I love Jason, so he can do absolutely no wrong. I agree with VT that DC’s whole going offstage for the supposed encore song was staged-feeling and silly. For just one show, I’d love it if the crowd just died down and stood a second, then started collecting their stuff and leaving.
Final group number was cute, but needed more dork dancing. He bent his arms up so that his hands were shoulder level and did this little sideways shuffle for a few steps. I think Michael Johns may have messed up his lyrics because they all seemed off for a second. Jason did an wonderful job with his part. I just the catwalk had been about 50 feet longer, LOL!
10:15 PM- We leave and because I’m on floor level near the doors, I get out quick. There are already throngs of people, but so far only about 3-4 deep in some places, so I get in behind them, even though I’d planned to leave immediately. I use traffic as my excuse, but really I just couldn’t bear the thought of leaving without seeing Jason up close if I had the chance. The dreadheads are mostly gathered near the doors, but there it is about 6-7 people deep, so I find other dh’s further down.
10:40 PM- The crowd is now deeper, probably 8-10 deep all over, and some people get a little pushy. I don’t mind b/c I’ve been there before, and though small, will hold my ground usually. One guy raises his voice at an venue staff worker unnecessarily. Someone else drops the F-bomb, even though there are kids and teens around. Not great, but what can you do?
The doors open and Carly comes out, followed by KLC. Screaming and a little pushing, but not too bad. They go to either end of the group and work their ways around, stopping by us once each.
10:45 PM- Ramiele comes out, and soon Brooke makes her way out. She’s beautiful. I never really saw Ramiele though because I’m short and she’s shorter.
11:15 PM- I am starting to think no one else is coming (though how I could have doubted our boy I don’t know!). Then David A comes out and the pushing and squealing comes full force. I don’t mind, but it is too much for some people, so a few leave to go to the back.
THEN JASON ARRIVES!! You could have trampled me and I probably wouldn’t have noticed. He’s gorgeous. Same outfit as before, and he looks amazing. He comes straight to us, because we are the largest blue group close to the door. I get a couple of blurry shots, and he signs and snaps for a few people right up front, but then goes off. Some people leave and an Archie who walked up after me pushes forward. I ask nicely if she’d mind trading spots with me after Archie leave and before Jason comes back, as I can see he’s working his way down the line. She agrees, and he comes closer and closer. I’m so afraid she won’t move, but then when he’s right next to her, she turns to me and gets me in and I am about 15 inches from JASON.
Please forgive me if this next part sounds like some trashy pulp fiction romance novel!
I’d prepared myself to be able to speak, so I was able to. I told him he was incredible and thanked him for his music. I asked for a picture, and he put his right arm around me and took the picture with his left hand with my camera. I put my left arm under his right arm on his back, and just to take advantage of the situation (and because I’d been wanting to for months!!) I put my right hand on his stomach/ribs. I could not breathe. Because I had the camera on night setting without flash, he didn’t think it took at first, so he took another one, which was A-okay with me. I touched his dreads which were coarser than I expected, and also seemed almost entirely dark colored, with little to no blonde (maybe the lighting?). As he pulled away, I leaned in and said, God bless you. He smiled, gave me my camera, and turned back to the person who’d moved for me to get a picture with her. Since I was still there and he was still there, only inches away, I touched his shoulder. He didn’t flinch or turn around like “what the crap?” so I touched his shoulder again. I felt kind of silly and stalker-y doing that, but at the time could not stop from doing it. For a brief moment I kind of understood what possessed the person who supposedly touched him inappropriately, LOL! Though I would NEVER have done what they allegedly did, I’d have spend an hour just touching his shoulder thru this shirt!
He made his way back the other direction, I yelled Thank you, Jason. He didn’t look up but he was smiling and seemed so happy. I was done—I made my way through the crowd, and as I reached the edge, saw Choppersmom. That’s when I teared up again, this time for serious, LOL! I don’t know what it was, but suddenly it was amazing and surreal! Someone nearby was looking at me like I’d lost my mind, but I so didn’t care. I showed off my picture with him and kept moving. Next I saw Kali and Tina, and ran up to them, still crying and blubbering a little. I couldn’t stop smiling! Tina said I was shaking. I showed them my picture, and confessed about the shoulder moment. We said goodbye, and I flew to the car! By now it was 11:45 and I’d told Mr. Tiger I’d be home by about midnight! And home was still another 120 minutes away!
I FLEW home, making it in just over 90 minutes. Mr. Tiger called around 12:45, and I told him I was close. I got home, unloaded all the incriminating evidence from my car, and fell in the bed at 1:40 AM. At 5:45 AM, Mr. Tiger got up to get ready for work. I tried to go back to sleep till 7, but started thinking about making first contact with the shoulder/stomach and could no longer sleep. So here I am, working off 4 hours of sleep—yet wide awake because I just relived the shoulder incident!
So, overall, the best experience by far was meeting Jason. The worst was not meeting Jason in the early afternoon when he would have had more time and there would have been fewer people.

Love, Love, Lovin the big yellow "Get on Da Bus!"
So Kali... what did you barbeque? *lol* curious minds wanna know.
YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM! Now that's what I'm talkin about! *licks lips*

Tiger... Your recap had me cracking up, especially the line above... and reliving a million little incredible moments yet again in my head. I'm running on just a couple hours of sleep still, so my recap and the rest of my pics should be up later.
A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL THE WONDERFUL SOUTHERN BELLES THAT HELPED GET EVERYTHING CREATED, SET-UP, AND CLEANED UP YESTERDAY AND SUNDAY!
THANKS TO YOU ALL AND JASON, THIS WAS ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING EXPERIENCES OF MY LIFE!
And to everyone reading this that is yet to have their day with Jason...when that time comes, try not to blink...it goes by SOOO fast. I pray all of ya'll end up with memories as wonderful as I have.
Okay, off to get a couple hours of sleep before I head into work.

OMG...all i have to say is that yesterday was the best day of my LIFE! hahaha
EVEN THOUGH:
(a) stupid Larry King took up our jason time
(b) my camera died RIGHT when jason came on stage
(c) the girls behind me were like, all over me when jason was there, so i got no good picture with him
boo but, we had a small converstation, so it's ok i suppose.
OH AAAAAAND Kali is OFFICIALLY my hero. im just sayin
but all in all, the boy's BEAUTIFUL and a total sweetheart!!! Made my night! lol (and my LIFE haha)
I was completely thrilled to meet yall finally!! I have a blast! I can't wait to the REAL tour actually starts
ALL ABOUT J-BABY!
Well I'm thinkin you all made yourself some awesome "feet on the street" partners! These Dreadhead get-togethers are the best aren't they. NO ONE gets mad at you for talking nonstop about Jason! ;D

Kali, you pic with Cookie is a hoot. He looks like you just pinched him on the butt!!! haha
That definitely needs a LOLZ
knowing Kali she may have! lolz

My cell completely died!
barracuda lol! good one! great thread belles!

Her name was Margaret, and she was oh-so-nice when you call the arena staff by name, she took the picture of Jason's view of us across the barricade at night. AND she pointed Jason right to us for the running hug. There's nothin better than seein Jason run straight at you for a group hug, right PoisonIvy and Aaronsbabygirl?
