so...
I was the one that kept opening that handicap door! haha (THE AC FELT GOOD!) it was an accident though lol
anywayyy...
when Jason came out in the afternoon, he came straight to me. I was the 1st one that got anything signed! i told him how i drove 500 miles to see him and he started to sing that song " i would walk 500 miles" lol he signed a picture for me and we got our picture taken and it was pretty cool and relaxed..
then after the show I got out there and stood right in front of the door where they came out of! that was exciting. people were pushing me all over the places and shoving their posters over my head (KINDA SCARY!) Carly stuck up for us though lol
when Jason came our way he was like "heyyy how are you!?" I was like (yelling in my head like a little girl) but I said i was good and I asked how he was and of course he was very good! I got a hug from him then. he is so nice!
I was so happy to meet him! NC was awesome!
So.. i saw 2 shows..and now I plan on going to a 3rd!

I got a picture with Jason, and he signed my shirt. He is even more goregous in person! I got to feel of his dreads too. Haha. I'm such a dork.
But yeah, Jason, David A., and Chikeze were all the sweetest to me. I had a great day. And the concert was awesome too. Intermission seemed like it would never end though! Haha.

This is the account of my Charlotte experience that I posted over on Castrocopia. It was the first of three concerts I went to (Charlotte, Atlanta, and then Tampa). I wrote this review sitting in the hotel in Tampa, enjoying my "day off."
I am So. Tired. But So. Happy. I'm having a blast! I'm sitting here in Tampa, looking forward to a whole day of rest before Thursday's show.
Let me just tell you that I was never as excited in my whole life as I was at the bus stalking when Jason came out. Have a paper published? Pass the bar exam? Whatever, dudes, there's Jason! Greenie told me that Ashokie has a picture of me jumping up and down and screaming, "JasonJasonJasonJasonJasonJason!!!!!!" I srsly thought that I would've been able to play it cooler than that. Huh.
I don't remember saying anything to him when he came over to where we were. Oh, wait, I did say something: Someone handed me a card to give to Jason and when I gave it to him he said "Thank you!" I very quickly said, "That's from her [gestured behind me]." I'm sure he was impressed with my eloquence. I had better interaction with him in Atlanta, so I'll post about that over in that thread.
Wait, how can I forget this: I totally touched a dread. Not on purpose; I'm not one of those wackos who reaches out and tugs on them. Jason took a picture with me, and I put my hand around on his back. I don't remember smiling for the camera or the picture being taken, because as soon as I put my hand there, and felt something coarse under my finger, all my mind's energy became focused on the fact that Jason Castro's dreadlocks were under my hand. I didn't stroke them (though it crossed my mind). But I focused on what they felt like, because I knew that THAT was what I would want to remember. They are coarse, but not rough. Sort of like a softer version of sisal. I would say I'll never wash that hand again, but that would be srsly disgusting.
His performance in Charlotte was absolutely magical. When the lights went down, and I knew he was up next, I started bouncing in my seat and squealing, "Jason! Jason! Jason!" Again with the eloquence! When the opening bars of OTR started up, I realized I was getting a lump in my throat, rising fast. I turned to Greenie and said, with great surprise, "I think I'm going to cry!" And then I totally did. It was so beautiful and (sorry for the repeated word) magical. I was overcome by emotion.
It was a marvelous day. It ended with Greenie and I getting into our cars and heading down to Atlanta in the middle of the dang night. I'll tell that tale over there.

I went to the Charlotte show with my mother. We are both way too old for this AI stuff but we watched the entire season and were able to get tickets at the last minute and we were stoked to go.
So we got there a few hours before the show started (we drove from Black Mountain, about 4 hours) and I had planned to change but then I thought "Who's gonna remember what I was wearing?" So I opted for comfort and met Jason in my ripped and stained T-shirt and cut off shorts. hehe
So anyway, when Jason came out and waved and started signing things it was great. He was so kind. A girl who was in front of me allowed me to get to the front to meet him. I showed him my poster which I had attempted to make unique by creating a reference to a Ray LaMontagne song (Jolene). When he saw the sign and I asked him "Do you get it?" he looked at it for a minute and then sang "..in the pocket of my blue jeans..." which is the next line in the song. It was pretty cool. I took a picture with him and generally thought he was an amazingly humble and real person. I gave him a book my brother had given me a few Christmas's ago called 'Music Makers'. It's about the dilemma of writing music for the masses or from the heart and the hope of the two becoming one.
ANYWAY! We watched the show from the needs-oxygen section (nose bleed was below us) and enjoyed everyone.
After the show I was able to get right up front to meet him. After standing there and giving the security guards a hard time for about an hour (The Idols were at a meet and greet inside) Jason and the others came out. When Jason got to me I was passing everyone elses stuff forward (he'd already signed mine ealier) and I asked "So Jason, did you get burned by the pyrotechnics at the finally?" in my best (joking) reporter voice. He said "THEY WERE SO HOT!" and then gave a signature Jason giggle. I laughed with him and then he said "I didn't catch on fire though. But they really were so hot!" then I said "And why were you a Shaky McShakerson when you were singing Hallelujah?" and he grinned again (still signing a million things) and said "I think I was intimidated by all those people." Me "Seriously??". Him "THERE WERE A LOT OF PEOPLE THERE!" I then talked to him about a bead I made for his hair. We measured his dreads for fit and I told him I'd finish it and send it to him (which I still haven't done...doh!) and then he was on his way.
It was a pretty great day. I love how honest he is even with himself. He doesn't need to put on any airs or act in any way contrary to who he is. I love that he knows who he is and is secure with his relationship with the Father and therefore is true and honest and real. It's awesome.

I know I have posted here already, but I thought I would post a review of the show.
Chikezie - What a way to open up the show! He did great, I really wasn't to familar with any of his songs, I remember one that he did on Idol, but I loved all his songs and he did a great job. Ramiele - Okay so I am a Rami fan, but i'm gonna have to say she was my least fave of the night, she still looks like she feels akward up on the stage and if she's gonna be a singer, she needs to get out of that. Michael Johns - I really wasn't a MJ fan when he was on Idol, but I am now! He was amazing, I loved it when he was about to sing Dream on and he was saying how Randy wasn't to fond of this song and then he said, but he's not here and I don't care! Haha. I loved that. But he did an awesome job! Kristy Lee Cook- God Bless the U.S.A was really good, it actually gave me chill bumps at some points of the song. I also enjoyed her other two songs, but not as much as God Bless the U.S.A. Carly Smithson - Bring me to life was awesome! She sounded a bit like the girl in Evanescence! I honestly didn't want that song to end, I really like that song anyway. Haha. I drove all night was good too. She did a good job. Brooke White - Let is be was pretty good. It wasn't the best song I had heard all night, but I did enjoy it. 1234 was my fave song Brooke did. She looked like she had fun with it and I think everyone else did too. JASON CASTRO!- What I had been waiting for! He was amazing. I kinda teared up during Somewhere over the Rainbow, it just was so beautiful. I liked Crazy too. Daydream was awesome, I was hoping he would do that little dance or whatever he did on the first stop, but oh well, no luck there. Haha. But yeah, Jason was awesme and I can't wait to go see him on his own tour. Syesha - She was better than I thought she would be. I'm not really a Syesha fan, but she did do a good job with Umbrella. But it would have been better if her dress was a little bit longer. DAVID ARCHULETA!- Yes, I am a big Archuleta fan too. Angles was amazing, I kinda wasn't paying attention and didn't notice him and the paino coming up out of the floor, and I was kinda like hey where did him and the paino come from? Haha. Apoligize was great. My fave was Stand by Me though, I love that dance he does in the middle of the song or so, it's so cute. When you say you love me was awesome as well. A couple of girls on my row where like losing their minds and screaming non-stop, so that would have made it better if they would have been quiet some. But I can't wait to see Archie on his own tour either. David Cook - Well it was time for the American Idol winner! He was great as well. I heard he was sick that day, and if this was true, you would have never known it because he did a great job with all of his songs. Time of my life was my fave one he did. Group number - Jason coming out laughing was to adorkable. =] Also Archie kicked DC in the bottom, and that was pretty funny too. But everyone did a great job with Please don't stop the music.
Well, thats my review, sorry it's so long.

I'll start with my whole experience then the signing mayhem afterwards. I'll say my thoughts on each Idol in a couple sentences,so this doesn't drag on and on. First I'll say I couldn't make it in the afternoon to meet them because my mom and aunt made me go visit my aunt with them, who lives 30 minutes from downtown Charlotte,it was such a huge bummer,I had gifts and everything that I never got to give!!
Chikeze- Actually was really good! I loved the Usher song "Caught Up" he did.
Ramiele- Eh,she was ok I liked the Jackson 5 song somewhat but that was it.
Michael- Wow, I was a Michael fan before but he's now my 2nd fave Idol after Jason! Excellent set, great voice!
Kristy Lee- Good,if country music is your thing. I did like God Bless the USA though.
Carly- I loved the Evanescence song she did, "Bring Me to Life"! I didn't think she screamed any of her songs at all,I think i've read that before from people.
Brooke- Loved "Let it Be" the other 2 songs I wasn't nuts for. She has really good stage presence
Jason!!- As soon as his set was over, all I could think was "That's it?" Perfect in every way,I don't think there's much more I can say.
Syesha- Never been a fan of hers,so I'll leave it at that.
David A- Great voice, loved Angels and Apologize!
David C- Rockin' it out, luckily without any guyliner, whew! Loved all his songs, and you can tell he loves every moment!!
I didn't get why Jason was cracking up through the whole PDSTM finale, but I guess the Goth Girls had one heck of a funny sign! It was still totally adorkable though,it's Jason, how could it not be?! Loved the MAVID dance with the umbrellas and the little move at the end,I just wish I had better seats,my camera's zoom was terrible. Just my luck, next time I'm going right to Best Buy and asking what the best concert camera is with a decent zoom!!
On to after the show...
I went out with my mom and aunt, who I came with. There weren't tons of people when I first got there but that soon changed. I couldn't even see behind me to see how many rows deep it was! We waited for a little over an hour I think before Chickeze came out. Got his autograph,I had made 2 little posters with Idols 10-6 on one poster and 1-5 on another one so I would pass up the right one depending on who walked out, since I was in the third row of people. Then Kristy came out, followed shortly by Michael and Carly,if I remember right. Finally JASON walked out!! I tried to get a picture of him walking out,but I couldn't get my camera raised over everyone's head to take a decent picture fast enough. Then he went to the oppsite side from where I was standing and spent TONS of time taking pictures and signing things. Finally he makes it to my side and that's when I got pushed as far as I could go and couldn't move at all!! It was totally uncomfortable the whole time and the people in front of me weren't about to let me up front. I got him to sign my poster but I was bummed that he didn't draw his little dread guy next to it! I had seen 2 girls who were sitting across from me at the concert who had his signature on their shirts complete with dread guy. So needless to say,I couldn't get a picture with Jason, despite the fact that before he came out,a lady standing next to me swore she would take one of me with him,but of course as soon as he came out she got to the front and it was all about her!! Then Archie came out with his dad and I got Archie to sign my poster. Brooke and Syesha both came out during this time, but I was so hot and tired and sweaty from being pushed around so much that I left right after Archie signed. The security guy said David C wasn't coming out because he wasn't "feeling well". He seemed fine at the concert so I was a little confused about that, but oh well. So to summarize,I managed to get autographs on my poster from: Chickeze,Kristy, Carly,Michael,Jason and Archie. If I had it my way,I would've waited to get a picture with Jason and gotten Brooke to sign my poster.
I left feeling very dissapointed that I couldn't assert myself enough to get to the front row of people and that i couldn't go in the afternoon too since there were less people and it's more relaxed atmosphere. I am in need of a big group Dreadhead hug,any volunteers??
Oh,and for those of you that were there,I was wearing a cap sleeve red t-shirt that said "I was Thinking Jason,Yeah! with olive green cargo capris.

Top 5 Recaps on Charlotte tour! Jason- He did an AWESOME job of course!! He keeps his uniqueness going! =) He is so amazing! At the end when they were singing ''Please Don't Stop The Music" Jason came out laughing so hard as something he couldn't sing right! He makes me SOOO happy! No matter what kind of mood i'm in once i listen to some Jason music or look at the pic of me and him in Charlotte my day turns around all for the better!!
Brooke- She did a good job! I love the song '1234' by:Feist but i really liked the song 'Yellow'
Syesha- She did a good job!! Like a few other people said..i'm not a big Syesha fan but she sang some good songs!
David Archuleta- He was verrry good! But nobody beats Jason! I loved David's song "Angel's" that he sang! Its very pretty!! He is very sweet too! I met him at the venue that day along with JASON, Carly, David Cook, and Kristy Lee Cook!
David Cook- I love the song he sings "My hero"! He did a very good job and i got teary-eye'd when he said 'This goes out to my brother'! He has a big heart!!
That was my recap of the American Idol Tour 2008 In Charlotte, NC!!

I drove up from Atlanta to see the Idols in Charlotte, NC in August. It was a blast and I was lucky enough to meet Jason at the barricades... What a sweetheart! My friend, Amanda (left), and I upon arriving at the barricades set up outside the arena. The man himself making his way down the line. A pretty miserable picture of Jason and I. But it's better than nothing! The decent view from our seats... Jason breezing through the line after the show. And here are two pictures from the Atlanta concert date: Somewhere Over the Rainbow My full Charlotte recap can be found here: www.rickey.org/?p=8698#more-8698
