QUESTION RE: IMAGE POSTING
I'm asking this question for some of the Camarillas who are experiencing problems posting pics. They are posting appropriately within the IMG tags, but the images do not appear. So we wonder...
1. Is there a size maximum to images being posted within a regular post? If you exceed the image max, does it not post?
2. Are there IE issues when using this board? Does Firefox support this site better than IE?
(Sorry, I cannot give you specific examples to look into, although Choppersmom seems to be having continuous issues.)
I read this thread and did not see these questions posted, so I apologize if you've already covered this and I missed it. I'll report back to the girls.
Thanks!

Ok, scrap the image SIZE, I just found that here:
We also require that you stay within the size limits we request on the forum. Pictures may not be bigger than 550 X 329. If they are, you will be asked to resize them. We require the size guidelines to be followed to help keep the forum loading quickly. Too many large pictures slow the forum down ALOT.

Try looking at your menu bar - Tools/Options to make sure you've checked the Keep Cookies box and selected 'Until they expire' in the drop down. Might help. I looked, and that was already checked. Like I said, I've never had this problem on any other board. Weird. Well, again, it kind of doesn't matter! I'm just being a troublemaker at this point!

Hi ctsbcmom, We have a ton of different backgrounds/layouts here called Skins that you can choose from. CLICK HERE TO PREVIEW THE SKINS Please let us know if you need help with this. That's what we're here for!! Okay -- I've been trying to get this to work but cannot. For one thing, every time I go to preview the skins I get the message that an error has occurred and that page doesn't exist. Also, under editing profile, I have changed the skin but cannot ever see it. I always have a white background (which makes everything easy to see) but no matter what skin I choose, I get no colors, patterns, etc. What am I doing wrong? #help# One thing you might want to try is just resetting Internet Explorer here is a link to show you how to do it step by step, it's easy but it will wipe out any stored passwords you have but you can always put them back when you vist a site. Here is the link: windowshelp.microsoft.com/windows/en-us/help/81fe3b46-2460-459e-b826-8f134a7fe1771033.mspxOnce you do this close IE and come back to the site and you should be able to use everything. Sounds like your IE settings got screwed up a bit.

In the "How To" section about posting pictures, it says that they have to be no bigger than a particular size. How do I know what size my picture is? How do I fix it if it's too big?

Cathy - I don't know the answer to the e-mail question, but didn't want to overlook your post - I'll send someone who might know more in here to help you. Sounds good? Iz gud. Thanks McLovin! I'm wondering, do I have to bookmark a thread every time I want to be notified that there has been a post in it? I changed my bookmark options so that I would be notified by email. I suppose I should bookmark something and try it out. lol

Randy - thanks for helping gottagreys. I wouldn't have known what to do about that! Hope that works for you, gotta.
Cathy -- Are the new posts tags working for you? If there are new posts on one of the boards, the Trinity will have a white background. If not, the Trinity will be grey. Once inside a particular board, if there are new posts there should be a tag that says "new". If you click right on the tag it should take you to the first unread post on that thread. That should work forever unless you clear your cookies.
Will that help? I asked about the e-mail notification and I know that's being looked at. We'll post some info as soon as we have it.

Hey -- JMR and SLW - I have "post instructions for making clickable thumbnail images" on my list of things to do. Hopefully that will get us around the picture size thing.
Calgal mentioned the issue you guys are having, JMR, where you're getting the word "Image" instead of the picture itself. I don't know why that happens (it's not because the image is too big); maybe one of the less tech-challenged mods can help with that. I did want to tell you that if you right click and hit "View Image" you should be able to see the picture. Then hit your back button to get back to the board.
SLW- if you right click on an image and hit Properties, the dimensions should be listed. Photobucket or a home photo editing software can resize the pics for you.

Thanks for looking into it for me!

SWL, I am having the same thing happen with me about logging in and out. Its not a big deal, because I also have my password saved...I just find it odd. And I do not have that issue on other sites that keep me logged in.

Hi, patty -- Welcome to JCM!
While you're checking out the board, take a look in Custom Blend down in the JCM Community, you'll find an Internationals section. Might find some people from Toronto there.
Glad the notifications are working, Cathy.

Hey Peeps! Not sure if anyone's asked this already but here goes. My FONTS are TOO small! Very hard to read the post boxes. I see no settings for font changes in my profile or account settings. Am I missing something?

Okay.. I am just all confused. I dont know how to add a pictures to my profile.. And when i joined the fan club it didnt ask for me to put a username or password. How will I log in? Help! haha.. Here's the instructions for getting your avatar: 1. Select 'profile' from the menu bar. 2. Select 'modify profile'. 3. Select one of the avatars from the drop down box to the right of the word 'avatar' in the Personal Information section. We've added a bunch of moving gifs of Jason and they're awesome!! 4. Click on the 'modify profile' button at the bottom left of the page. 5. The Jason avatars are hosted on photobucket. When you select a Jason avatar from our gallery, our software adds the direct link to the avatar to the 'Avatar URL' field directly below the avatar preview window in the Personal Information section. If you decide to change to another Jason avatar from our gallery, you will need to clear the link from that field before you update your profile. Or.... You can select and use your own avatar by pasting the direct/url link from your photobucket account in the space to the right of the words 'Avatar url' in the Personal Information Section. You will need to set the size of your avatar. The maximum size allowed by proboards forums is 100 x 100. Those spaces immediately follow the 'avatar url' option and say 'Avatar Width' and 'Avatar Height'. You will also need to click on the 'modify profile' button on the bottom left of the page to update your profile with this new information. You use the user name and password you created to log in here, to the Cafe Forum. I don't think you need it anywhere else.

Randy - thanks for helping gottagreys. I wouldn't have known what to do about that! Hope that works for you, gotta. Thanks Randy for trying but that wasn't it --- I was using Firefox and that seemed to be my problem. Once I switched to IE, the colors worked fine. Too bad the other way doesn't work since I mainly use Firefox since it seems to cut out all the junk/popups the best.
