It was a dream come true to go from Mexico to Toronto just to see Jason and having the chance to meet him, hug him, thanking him for his music!
I wish he liked the gifts from Latinas ad Mexico!
I miss my fellow Canadian Dreadheads so much! ;D

ah yes, amazing, AMAZING show - one of the highlights of my summer. Jason's voice sounded so gorgeous, clear, and resonant. It gave me chills. I would post my whole recap that I wrote the night of the show here, but it's super long and I doubt anyone wants to read it again

i posted on DDB so i'm using the good ol' copy n paste button here i got to the venue with my friend around 12pm. and there was already a whole bunch of people there so my friend and i thought we should try adn chat with some people and try and get to a place where we could easily see the idols. so after a while we saw these two really nice ladies looking over at us and so we decided to go introduce ourselves.... Their names were Jenn and Kathy. Jenn was a Cook fan, like my friend, and Kathy was a Castro fan, like me. so it worked out perfectly for everyone! we waited for like 3 and a half hours before the idols came out. first ramiele...she was SO cute and SO little. she was like my size...maybe a TAD taller ...I'm 4 foot 10 inches. so i'm guessing she was 4'11 or something...so sweet though. next david cook...he seemed in a rather bad mood. he didnt have time for pics. but oh well the tour life can get stressful and obviously people have bad days! next JASON! that boy seemed SO exhausted i felt bad for him. but he was still REALLY nice and grateful to everyone so that was nice to see. he signed my poster and tshirt for me and then i gave him the present i had for him and he said " OHHH Thanks! i've been getting a lot of these today!" it was cute. so then he moved onto sign other peoples things and i kept asking for a photo but he couldn't here me . so i decided to elave and go to the end of the line...where a very lovely girl said i could squeeze in and get a picture there...and so i did . after that bit of excitemetn i couldn't be bothered waiting for anyone else. it was an exhausting wait and i got my jason time so i was happy. the concert itself was nothing short of AMAZING! chikezie has really improved and got the show off to a great start. poor ramiele and her microphone dilemma! i didn't find her that abd though! she has quite a voice on her i think. Michael Johns, ALL showmanship i tell you. he is an entertainer. He made a BIG entrance during the first group performance which i thought was rather unnecesary, but whatev. he's a good singer and that's what i was there to hear. KLC, not bad but not great. one of my least favourites of the season BUT i gotta hand it to her she can hit some high notes! i actually got goosebumps during Anyway. i think it was a smart change of song. although, i dont think she was "chickening" out....i think its one of those "better safe than sorry moments". she was alright either way. Carly, very talented girl that's all i have to say. Brooke...what a BEAUTIFUL soul, inside and out. she just has such a calm presence around her, very earthy. I love it! and i love her! very simple and elegant. I enjoyed her set. and now JASON....LOVED LOVED LOVED everything about it. i definitely cried the whole way through....it was just such a magical moment and so surreal to look down and see jason there and hear his angelic voice. the only thing that sucked was the fact his set went by soooooooooooo fast! but it was well worth it. syesha....power vocals! WOW. she's gorgeous as well...just....her dress was a tad too revealing for my liking...but the vocals were killer. archie...what a sweetheart. he's sucha good performer too. now if only i could have heard what he was saying between sets over ALL the fans screaming.... lol and last david cook...ditch the eyeliner and you and perfect my dear. all in all it was a greaaaaaaaaaatttttt experience. i hope i can meet jason and perhaps even have a nice chat with him one day ah ha ha. YAY for Jason Castro!

Post your picture! ;D Great review! I completely understand not wanting to wait after Jason... it was a VERY long wait.... I felt like giving up a couple of times, haha. But after Jason, you didn't miss anyone anyway! I think Brooke came out and Carly only got through half the line.. she didn't even make it to my end! So you really didn't miss anyone much after Jason Oh and Kristy came out as well. And then the Idols went back up.. and they ALL came to the windows to wave at us. Many people were super pissed seeing as though they stayed waving for a good 15 minutes or so, when they could have been downstairs with the fans. And you thought Cook was in a bad mood?! Really? I found him really sweet.... but he and Jason both looked EXHAUSTED!

here's my very very long rambling recap, written right after I got home from the show still on an adrenaline high. Ah memories
Friday evening (the 25th) a bunch of us met up downtown to make our signs and finish putting our gift together for him, pictures which will be posted once they're uploaded We were making them at Nicole's hotel, where the idols were staying so everytime we heard someone walk by where we were working, our hearts jumped into our throats. We didn't run into them at the hotel - probably could have if we had looked harder, but didn't want a repeat of the Chicago stuff. Sooooo, this morning we all met up at the Tim Hortons near the ACC. I was sooooo tired because I was going on about four of five hours of sleep - had stayed up late putting finishing touches on our gift. In case anyone's curious, we got him seven books - don't remember all the titles, but there was a Bob Marley bio, a Bob Dylan bio, and a book of poetry by Leonard Cohen (who wrote Hallelujah). Canuck will probably be able to fill you in on the other titles. We also burned him a bunch of CDs with music by mostly Canadian artists. There was also....maple syrup, ketchup chips, a t-shirt from Roots and some other stuff that I cannot recall right now. So, we get to the ACC around 12:00 and find the place where the idols are going to be coming. It was indoors (I think the first time the meeting place has been indoors), which we were thankful for because it started thundering and pouring rain at one point. So, we were waiting waiting waiting forever, and getting really frustrated and bored, etc. Then, around 3:30 (about three and a half hours after we got there), we hear screams coming from the front of the line and see people taking pictures. Out comes....Ramielle! She was sooo cute and really tiny, but didn't really stop much to sign autographs. She signed one for someone who was near me, and then totally ran past every single dreadhead without even stopping, but that was okay. Out next (I think, sorry, I'm tired and everything is kind of a blur) is David Cook. Of course the crowd goes absolutely NUTS. However, he too was kind of unfriendly and distant and didn't take pictures with anyone. He didn't really seem happy to be there. Anyways, we start hearing more screams from the front section of the crowd, who was able to see which idol was coming out first. Unlike Ramielle and David though, they seemed to be taking a long time to get to us. So I start totally freaking out and getting excited and convinced it's Jason, because of how everyone says he takes so long with the fans. After a few minutes of not knowing who was there I screamed out "who is it?!" and a girl screamed back really loudly "IT'S JASON!" Well, the crowd goes INSANEEEEE....like louder than they were for Cookie. Us Dreadheads start hyperventilating, freaking out, etc (or that might just have been me haha). Then he rounds the corner....and wow....I started shaking because I couldn't believe I was actually going to meet and talk to him. He took quite awhile to get down towards us; like everyone says he's so sweet and accomodating to the fans, spending a lot of time with each of them. So I'm snapping pictures like mad (I got some really awesome ones which I will also post here once I watermark them). It was surprising I got such good ones because I was shaking so much I could barely hold onto my stuff. So I'm watching him getting closer and closer and trying to remember all the things I wanted to say and ask him. Then he was in front of me and I forgot them all! But it's okay So he signs my towel and I was just kind of making small talk, don't really remember what I said. I had our present in front of me because I was closest to him, and so I picked it up and said 'Jason, this is for you from the Canadian dreadheads.' And he was like, 'wow, for me? Thank you so much.' Then I got a picture with him and he put his arm around me. Ahhhh heaven I forgot to ask for a hug, and didn't even realize I had forgotten until I saw Mariana ask him for one. I was right beside her and he was about to walk away and I said 'wait, can I have one too?' so he stopped and turned around and gave me a hug. And mmmm, he smelled so clean and fresh and masculine. I also touched his hair while I was hugging him (not in a creepy way like stroking it or something, my hand just happened to land there. So he continued down the line and all us dreadheads start freaking out and squealing. Oh yeah Nicole gave him a bracelet that matched ones she had given all of us, and he said he loved it and put it on right away. We saw him wearing it at the show so if you see any pics of him wearing a blue wooden looking bracelet with a silver charm, that's ours! I have a story about the hat but I'm going in chronological order so I'll tell it later. So then Kristy Lee, Brooke and Carly also came out, and I got autographs from all of them. Brooke was so sweet, I told her that she and Jason were my favourite contestants and she said 'thank you so much for saying that,' and she sounded so grateful. She was also wearing a Nova Scotia shirt and said her husband used to live there. During the show she said he was born in Toronto, which got a lot of cheers. Anyways so Brooke came out right after Jason and I was still freaking out and kind of shaking, so when she went to autograph what I handed her, I dropped my sign and towel and everything else I was holding! So I guess that's my embarassing concert moment, haha. I didn't realize that she hadn't finished signing my paper because I got all flustered, but she actually came back and told me she hadn't finished signing, and then did it. Such a sweetie and so gorgeous. Carly and Kristy Lee I didn't really talk, just got their autographs, but they're also really beautiful. Like Carly is about 100 times better looking in person than on AI. Anyways, back to Jason. Everyone who said he's more beautiful in person - now I totally get what you mean. There's this inner quality about him that shines so brightly. His eyes are the most amazing shade of blue I've ever seen. And even though we were in a boiling hot room with about 200 people, when he was talking to me I felt like it was just me and him there alone, having a conversation. He also wore the manpris. soooo cute
So, now for a story about the hat. As they were getting ready to leave, missgloria grabbed the hat as he was walking by and gave it to him. He put it on his head and everyone started screaming again I have some great pics of him wearing it, which again, will be posted! He looked so friggin adorable in it, I can't even put it into words. Then as they were leaving Carly ran by him and grabbed the hat and put it on her head. lol it was pretty funny. Even though they were supposed to leave, Jason kept signing stuff and talking to people, and security actually had to lead him away.
Oh yeah, girltarist also got him an amazing dreadhead gift - a uke! And we all signed it. When she gave it to him he was so excited and started to play it. Some of us got pics and/or video, so never fear, you'll get to see it!
By the time that was all done it was almost 5:00 and everyone was super hungry, so a few of us went out for lunch/dinner. And then it was after 6:00 by the time we were done so we walked back to the ACC and went in, because the show was starting at 7.
My seats were SO GOOD - row 15 on the floor, first chair on the left side. I'm sure my view of the stage was not as good as some other people's, but I was really happy with it and got some beautiful pics of our boy.
So, onto the show.
Chikezie: really good. He has a great voice and really knows how to work the crowd and get them excited. He got huge applause
Ramiele: seems a lot more confident on stage than previously, but song choice was iffy and got drowned out by the band a few times. There was also a situation where her mike stopped working after the first song. She looked so embarassed and upset and someone led her backstage. However she came back with a working mike, and everyone cheered for her which seemed to make her feel better
Michael: eh. Technically speaking, I guess it was good, but just didn't really do anything for me. Except Dream On, that was pretty decent. He also said it 'felt good to be back in the commonwealth' or something along those lines
Kristy Lee: she REALLY surprised me. I enjoyed her set a lot. Good song choices and also, like Chikezie, was really good at getting the crowd excited. I was really curious if she was actually going to sing God Bless the USA (a very wise song choice, especially in Canada), but she sang Anyway instead. I wouldn't buy her CD, but she did a really good job.
Carly: Thought she did a good job overall but got a bit too screamy in parts. My favourite performance was Bring Me to Life. She looked beautiful - so much thinner than on AI.
Brooke - loved loved LOVED her. Great song choices, all of them. It was awesome to see her try something different with 1 2 3 4 and I thought she nailed it
Group song - eh. Weird and unnecessary Michael Johns introduction.
Intermission - which was really weird. I was expecting the guitar hero video and all that other random stuff other people have talked about. We got none of it. Intermission was less than ten minutes and we were expecting the guitar hero video, and suddenly everything went dark and then Jason came on stage. Didn't get to do the chant, which sucked majorly.
and now, Jason: I was absolutely in awe. I had forced myself not to watch any of the videos from other cities because I wanted to be surprised with how he sang the songs. And surprised I was. Surprised at the way his voice has changed, growing in maturity and picking up such a distinctive tone and style. It gave me chills, and his performance was so understated and perfect. Best of the night by far and I could spend pages going on about it. Conclusion: he's going to be HUGE
Syesha: Umbrella was okay everything else was whatever and annoying diva-ish. For some reason the crowd ate it up. I was very unimpressed.
David A: again technically very good, I liked apologize and stand by me, but could barely hear him over the screaming girls. He was very charming and also really good at working the crowd. Not at all like he's been portrayed on AI. Lots of charisma
Cookie: call it the Jason effect: almost everyone after him was boring and blah He was trying to do the rocker thing but came across as being an @$$. Five songs was way too much and I was bored. Used the time to look at my Jason pictures.

^Great review! That's such a great idea giving him CDs with Canadian artists (who'd you put on there?! haha) and the Leonard Cohen poetry book. Awesome. Can't wait to see your pictures!! I was so sad I didn't see the whole thing with the Canadian hat I don't think I was in that area.. and I only found out about it once I saw the pictures online!
