I extracted the audio from a YouTube video with a program I have, it's the one from his homecoming. The quality's not bad, it just sucks that all the screaming girls are in the background! haha. Is that the same one you have?

I luv the way Jason finds very unusal references to use that I have never heard before...like "on your pillow case." I love that because I can see it...we all have pillow cases it's just that I can't ever remember a song with a reference to it... John Mayer's "Your Body Is A Wonderland" ;D Something'bout the way your hair falls in your face
I love the shape you take when crawling towards the pillowcase First song that came to mind when you mentioned not having heard a pillowcase reference in a song! hahah ---- But yes, I LOVE "Only One" and definitely hope he includes it on the record!! |

Ah the pillowcase line in John Mayers song is wonderful....
I don't now if Jason is a JM fan or not, but I still like his pillowcase reference. I like this song but not as much as So Fast. When it's tweaked it will probably be as amazing as everything else that comes out of his lovely lips.

I imagine Jason to be a John Mayer fan! He seems to mesh well with his 'vibe'.
I agree that "Only One" will sound better when tweaked.. I love what I've heard so far, but the recording will byfar be much more amazing!

I loved this song as I heard it at Jason's homecoming, but even more when I heard the recording that was up on JCM for just a few days. The melody is so pretty and it's very catchy - can't help humming it for hours after. I think it could be a big hit.
I agree with Jason - hope it makes the album!

So until I read all your posts, I totally thought he was saying "watch my eyes light up as you plead your case." (Like they had been not getting along and she was trying to explain herself, and his eyes were lighting up because he wanted her to see that he wasn't upset with her.) I have loved this song ever since I heard him singing it at homecoming even though it was on the live stream and it wasn't very clear at times but I still knew that I loved it.. That was a great day and I had a lot of fun in that chat especially when we were all freaking out because he already arrived and we were looking at a blank screen

I absolutely adored this song from the first time I heard it, live at homecoming. I listened to that recording of it so many times...each and every time remembering the image of Jason at the harbor, playing for all of his home town admirers....that when I downloaded the version that was on JCM for a brief time, I realized that I actually missing those distant screams from his fans. Hearing them always brought back the afternoon I spent glued to the live feed, watching Jason home at last, singing one of the most amazing songs I've ever heard. There's just something about that song... I've never heard anyone else say this...so maybe I'm alone here...but one thing I love about it so much, is that it's not that easy to sing. I have listened to both recordings scores and scores of times....and still have trouble getting that second verse right without Jason helping me out. When I'm singing along to his track, it's a breeze...but take that away, and I just can't quite get it. AND I LOVE THAT ABOUT THE SONG!!!! It adds to the genius and mystery of Jason's composition skills. I REALLY hope that isn't changed at all.

They had it in their listings. a few days later, I opened My music, and said "this item has been removed!' Now its not even available anymore!!! I was so bummed! It was a beautiful version. I don't know if it is the one he plans to put on his CD, but if not i hope I can find it again. It was very simple, stripped down version. Unplugged style. |
