Hey ya'll! BundleofJoy here
After senile old Larry King stole Jason from us in Duluth, that craving for a picture with Jason in the daylight just wouldn't go away. So myself and two other JSB's(Jason's Southern Belles) feeling the same way, at the last minute decided to Go For It and took off for Evansville,IN.
I left Athens,Ga. at 5PM, picked them up in Chattanooga and we arrived in Evansville about 1AM. CJ is the most proficient fangirly I've ever seen. She was armed with posters and markers galore. She even had a folder with dividers for us to put our autographed stuff in so they wouldn't get messed up. She had this perfect singing Congratulations card for Jason. It was those two little pink and green characters(I don't know their names) singing, "We love what you did, do more of that, more great stuff, more great stuff!" So cute and Jason loved it BTW. She even had cards for Chikeeze's and Carly's birthday. Daydreamer21 is a grandmother and suffering from a sprained ankle but you would have thought she was 18 years old! NOTHING was stopping her.
So we got a hotel room, finished making posters and Flat Jason and signing cards, then crashed out for a while, then got to the venue about 11:30 AM. We arrived screaming and hollering and attracting all kinds of attention. Other Jason fans gathered around us. They recognized us with our foamy Dreadheads on a stick from Duluth. We were sort-of celebrities ;D
The barricade was excellent! It was about 1/8 mile long I swear! So we weren't stacked up at all, we were just in one great big long line. And it was on nice soft grass. We were just gonna stalk the buses and then head home but while we were waiting we checked out the ticket situation just out of curiosity and SCORED affordable front row seats! How could we pass that up!
So KristyLee came out first. She was very smiley and gracious and accomodating. She did "her job" swiftly. Next Cook and Archeletta came out and then.......JASON !!!!!! He was beautiful! He had his hair down. He was wearing his manpris! And a soft white T-shirt. And get this.....because we were on grass, he went BAREFOOT !!!!!
I thought I was gonna pass out and fall on my face in that new mowed lawn!!!!! He was ADORABLE!
So anyway, Cook was very, very nice when he got to us. He likes to make funny faces in pictures. CJ was fumbling with her camera and said to him, "Sorry, Jason makes smart women go stupid." And he laughed.
Archuletta was very, very cute. He just smiles and giggles the whole time. CJ told him how in Duluth she was so busy looking at Jason that she didn't even realize David had signed her picture till she got home. He busted out laughing.
MJ was very jovial and cutting up with everyone as usual. Everyone was so relaxed. One time when MJ walked by CJ hollered, "We love you MJ" He turned to us with a smile and said, "I won't tell Jason."
Carly came by and signed autographs but said she didn't have time to take pictures because she had Press. But a bunch of her fans were just a little ways down from us and one of them works for a Billboard company and they had a huge, gorgeous Birthday banner for her and Chikeezie. They even passed out birthday cupcakes to a bunch of us and they had presents and birthday cake with candles. So when she got to them she changed gears and started taking pictures.
Ya know who was an absolute treat? Chikeezie! He just so appreciated any and all love coming his way. He seemed to be cherishing every moment as if it was week one. For my picture he put his arm around me and squeezed me and while Daydreamer21 was fumbling with the camera, yay, he squeezed me even tighter. What a doll!
Brooke came out last, wearing sunglasses, taking her time. She was very sweet and told us about how she and Jason are working on a song. Oh, I forgot to tell you, when we gave Carly her birthday card she said, "Oh my gosh, everywhere we go the Dreadheads are always so sweet to us."
Ramielle and Syesha didn't come out before the show.
When Jason was in front of us, honestly my brain was being dead and a lot of it is pretty blurry. I don't think I actually said anything. I was just in utter bliss being able to watch him so close up. I did get a great picture with him. I had my arm around his waist, that's how I know the white T-shirt was soft. He was soooo sweet. Ya know how in pictures his dreads look so cool? Well, in real life, when gazing at his dreads you feel like you are looking upon a work of art! Just sooo unique! And I couldn't take my eyes off of his cute little barefeet! After he passed us I realized I forgot to get my picture signed and so I ran down to catch up with him and the people he was with were talking about his dreads, and I found my voice and chimed in (because I've always been curious), I said, "Jason can you trim your dreads or does that make them unravel?" He said, "Yaa, I don't think you're supposed to."
Then he was gone. And ever since I've been on Cloud 9, just feeling all floaty and relaxed. The concert was sooo enjoyable. They all sounded really, really good. It was a smaller venue, I think at least half the size of Duluth. The sound was really good. Our seats were not on the floor but first row off the floor which was still really great, and because it was a smaller venue we felt really zoomed in. The idols all seemed really relaxed. As if they were just really enjoying and cherishing their 2nd to last show, knowing that their last show is probably gonna be pretty emotional.
I'll just go ahead and admit it, I cried half way home. Sentimental tears of joy. Joy in the perfect, awesome, golden day that we had and already missing my Dreadhead buddies that shared this bliss with me!
