Jason has such a creative bunch of fans and we'd love for you to share your street teaming ideas. So, this is the place to post them.
The HQ will review the ideas submitted here and make sure they're in line with Jason's game plan and discuss them and we'll get back to you if we can use them.

Hey all you Street Team Leaders I just want to say what a great job you all have done getting this together on the official JCM site where JCST members or those interested in becoming a member can go to get direct and up to date info. I would like to suggest the idea of all state team leaders to share this news by providing info and links to this thread (in their region) to all the street team members that have signed up via their JCST Yahoo e-mail account. Hi Guys,
Melinda directed me to bring over my idea to this thread, so here goes.
Here's my idea:
TAGS: Has anyone noticed how often non-jason stuff comes up when you do a search for Jason? Have you ever looked at the tags? Guess what it's coz the (item) is tagged with his name.
I would like to suggest to anyone who is posting on the web, videos and such to tagg tagg tagg. You want to tag his music and performances and the I AM SECOND interviews. This helps these items to appear in a search, hence more views.
Suggested Tags (and please feel free to add to this list)
jason
castro
jason castro
music
performances
american idol
ford
-the actual song title of any video performance uploaded-
entertainer
-any other season 7 idol name- (they do it)
best performances
outstanding performances
read the taggs on some of those videos that have millions of view in a short time you will see that they are tagged to the max.
and it would be really nice if the Castros would do this.
but please keep the tags appropriate to the video.
i've noticed that many of his best performances and interviews have little or no tags at all.

I would like to add to the above. If everyone goes out and tags every single video they have uploaded then it will increase his view count but it will spread it out so much that it won't get recognition. Please, when you search YT for Jason videos click that little button at the top for MOST VIEWS (if the most viewed video was uploaded by you then tag it). Those are the ones that need to be tagged to get even more views.
It won't do to have 10 different videos sharing the view count. It needs to be only the most relevant and best.

I have found in the past that the best way to get to people it word of mouth. Talk to everyone you know about Jason's music and some of them will check it out. When his CD comes out have a listening party for all of your friends, this way they can hear how awesome he is for themselves. Other things that work are fliers, most public places have a cork board for community notices, I would heavily suggest hanging them up in music stores like Guitar Center and indie music shops in your area. Anyone who lives on or near a college campus can make great use of it's sidewalks for advertisement, buy some sidewalk chalk and write his website address all over campus, so curious person will check in, you can almost guarantee it.

My birthday is March 4th and for my party I invited everyone over to view Jason perform on American Idol and my party favors are going to be "Love Uncompromised" downloads. I encouraged everyone to gift Jason's first single to people to get them to hear how wonderful he is. If they don't like it, they don't like it but if they do they will want to hear more!!!!

You can wear Jason Castro tee shirts or other gear while street teaming as long as it doesn't contain any particular fansite and is in good taste.

1) After reading the " street team etiquette" I'm questioning the suggestion to tag anything Idol related, or the "I am Second' video.
We were told not to talk up AI, because that could actually be a stigma, and that since Jason is not pursuing a christian music carrer, street teamer should not focus on his Faith .
Did I get that right?
2) Should we all be researching venues in our ares that would be appropriate for Jason? if he tours , he could use a list of places to send his Promo.
I did this for Jonathan Richman several years ago, and he actually personally thanked me , and told me I was 'largely responsible" for bringing him to Albany.

Hi, just1 -
1.) Tagging things you're uploading (pictures, video) with Jason's name is going to result in a higher number of returns on search engines and help people who are searching find more of what they're looking for. There's already a ton of AI videos out there, and the I Am Second vids are all over the place, too. Since neither of those are the property of anyone who's street-teaming I'm not sure that this even applies, but if you're uploading live performance video or photos you should definitely by tagging them.
2.) We've not received any requests from Jason's manager to do that, but if we do we'll get it out to the team members.

Well after actually doing about 8 hours of actual on the street street teaming Sunday and Monday, I have several ideas. I am going to write up a little report about my experience and send it in a PM to my state leaders to pass on for market research.
I do think the Street Teamers should have there own shirts or wear JCM shirts. I never ordered mine. My experince was mostly good.
Starbucks was the most friendly place, and Jamba Juice, and Darque Tan, I did want to mention that although most Starbucks will let you post on ther ebulletin board, it is company policy that the baodr only be used for Starbucks affiliated events and concerts or charity concerts(hence them letting people post Garland fliers) I had 3 Starbucks let me post, but at the same time tell me it may get taken down. But the other 15 Starbucks had no problem. I posted 50 fliers in the Northwest side of Houston/1960 area. And there was not ONE person that did not know who he was. Also he has ALOT of male fans, some that even said they went to achool with him(posted in guitar shops and music stores) They were all like Dude it's Jason!!! OK OK, I know I said I wasn't gonna post about the experince yet. Any street teamer posting fliers should be prepared to do alot of parking, and backing out of spaces and getting in and out of the car, and bring a friend to keep ya company!! I went alone, and wished I had a friend to share the experince with!!
